dude your lucky

baby 3wks old...3.5 yr old who cares nothing about potty training and an 11yr old girl that will be hell in 1.5 years!!

3.5 yrs old? And no potty. I would flip out. Josie had to learn or she couldn't go to school. We busted our asses to get her to learn. Cassee is being much easier. I think the oldest is helping with that. A lot of people complain about girls being to much drama but I have to say I can always go in another room and tune it out. So far girls have been easy to deal with. It's the whole teenager thing that gets me worried. I'm afraid they are going to start learning the Jedi mind tricks and using it on me.

I got a mint tool kit too... Also the wife is pregnant now so I guess y'all will see me even less now! I'll do my best though...

CONGRATS JAY!!! (baby, not tool kit)

wow here comes a life changing event for somebody!!

I a working very hard at getting the 3 ye old to potty train. I offer candy toys and other treats but he would rather go in his diaper

then make him keep it on for a little while.

Yeah... I'm not really the nurturing parent type, but I guess i'll have to give it a shot! Any ways, it gives me an excuse to fix up the 60 (the M car isn't really baby friendly) so maybe I can get some stuff done to it under the guise of being able to transport one of those around!

He does not mind sitting in his own filth at all. That is the root of the issue

perfect excuse to get a diesel!!!:p

The way we got it through Josie was taking her diaper off and put her in the tub with a bag of wipes and told her to clean herself up. Took a week of us giving in but she finally got the picture. Which it was a lot easier to crap and pee int the toilet than stand in the tub and cry.

When my son turned 3 I just told him that he couldn't go to pre-K until he was potty trained. My kid loves books and likes to learn so it broke his heart to think he couldn't go to school. One day later he was trained, and has yet to even wet the bed.

This new one I doubt will be as easy.

my friend had her kid potty trained at 14-16 mos. She wanted to walk around the house naked and she agreed to let her run around the house naked IF she would use the potty.

She put a kid potty in the living room next to the toy box.

Other than upset tummys and a few late night accidents she has used the toiled ever since.

I guess i'm just not as lucky as others.

My son also spends 3 days a week at his moms so i think that change of scheduel might make it harder for him.

That and i don't really have anything to bribe him with. When i offer trades of candy bars for him sitting on the toilet and he declines i know i have an issue.

I can talk him into going to the toilet 60-70% of the time and he will use it but i can't talk him into telling me he has to go. I know he knows when he has to go because he will run off and hide when he has to go.

Just find what he loves most and take it away. Even if it is helping daddy in the garage, tell him he can't until he does. Just got to find the right motivation.

You know that's an interesting subject. Now that Josie is 5 I've started giving her chores. It's a strange concept to me since in the past I was the one that had a list of things to do. But now it's my turn and it's nice knowing the dog will always have food and water, there will be toilet paper in the bathrooms. I do know you have to start them off small at first. I didn't had Josie take Cassee's diapers out to the trash can. That was until she dropped a whole bag of them down the stairs.

my son's vocabulary is delayed a year or so due to him having terrible ear infections up until 1.5 years so he isn't at the level of communication that most 3.5yr olds are.

At 1.5 years i gave in and had them put tubes in his ears since he was having ear infections every other month, this started when he was about 6 mos old, and these infections impared his speach/comprehension skills since his ears were so full of crap that he literally could only hear muffled sounds. At one point his ear drum ruptured in one ear. I had hoped they would go away with age but only got worse.

So he doesn't really understand i'm not going to let you play with this until you do this at this point. He's 3.5 but he still understands things at about a 2yr old level.

Until i can get him to either dislike sitting in his own waste or can comprehend my expectations for him to go potty i'm going to have an uphill battle.

well i just spent the day working in the yard and my kids have been absolute h$%%... And to top things off as in 5 seconds ago heard a funny sound only to realize that he was picking my brand new recliner with a comb and has put a tear in it. Honeslty afraid for his safety with my wife...

Got to hunt for the first time this season and got a nice doe.
