So, I want to take the 25 on a trip in a couple weeks. The few times I've had it out on the trail there's an awful creaking sound from the springs. So I figured I'd replace the spring bushings. :)

Well needless to say, I couldn't get them to budge without ruining everything, and I didn't feel like smoking up the garage with burning rubber, so I quit.

So I decide a good and easy thing to do would be to change the oils starting with the front diff. :)

Can't get the drain plug out because I must have bashed a rock or three at Paragon. Get out the chisel, loosen everything up and we're in business. Draining oil into the pan which promptly overflows...............

So the oil looks a little grungy so I decide to spray some cleaner in the diff and flush it out a little. Put the little red spray tube in the fill plug and.............poink..............it shoots right into the diff!

Now with my luck the stupid little tube is sure to get itself into something and screw it up.............and the front cover studs were beat up from the rocks..........so I pull the front cover to grab the thing:

Aaaah, got it.

So, do you see it?

NO, not the stupid red tube thingy.......................

How can a spider go with no sign of carnage anywhere else?

Well, when a previous owner, maybe reading to many bulletin boards or something, attempts to do a half-baked Lincoln Locker................that's how.

Oh well, plenty of diffs in the shed.

and in the front no less. Maybe you'll have better steering now :)

My weekend was spent on the center arm of A-1's 25 only to come to the conclusion that SOR's rebuild kit sucks and ordered the better kit from CCOT. I have to do mine also so tow kits are on their way. After watching a friend drool from behibnd the wheel of my 25, pretending to drive, moving the steering wheel back and forth, I found where all of the slop in my steering is. The center arm moves like 1/2". DOH!

Aren't you glad you shot your little red thingie off? :D

You'd'a never found it otherwise.

Could have been worse.
It's the little things you take for granted...................
like removeable front diff covers that make the 25 fun.
