Kidding they looks great and actually still fit the scale of the truck well. How do you like the drivability of 35s (?)

I've only had the tires on for about 24 hours, so I need more seat time, but so far drivability is much better. Wander is gone, vibrations are gone and for the first time in probably 5 years I don't feel like I'm going to go deaf driving her around. As for acceleration, 2nd is still too tall to start out in without turning day into night, but acceleration is improved.

No one has that in stock up here, may have to order some up or just go get a can of antique sage 1b2 mixed up for me if that doesn't work.

Let me know if that's the right item number and I can look around here. I'll have somebody (or me) heading to G'boro Saturday.

New battery,starter,ballast resister,plugs,wires,dizzy cap/rotor/points,pcv, oil and air filters on a 40 here and she runs for the first time in over a decade!

At least long enough to make new list haha

@RYAN BARNARD could tell it best but i had been helping him look at some cruisers after depression set in after selling his awesome 60

He was up at a friends auto shop and chatting when a customer rolled in with a 62 sporting 426,xxx miles!! they got to chatting and next thing you know was "hey you dont know anyone looking for a cruiser do you? My dad just passed away and has 2 we are looking to sell" The rest is history; he and a neighbor and i made the trip to Surry Co. and they bought both of them

Its a 74 that PO's dad drove, then he drove it through HS and college, then his dad drove it up until 2003 or so when it was parked in running condition in favor of an 80 for the old ~73 yr old bones. It has sat there for the last 10+ years beside the barn until a couple weeks back when we drug it back here. If only it sat IN the barn. Still not to bad, has some rot, but its all original, all there and unmolested, and a decent price.

His neighbor picked up the 80 that is here at my place for baselining. Little old man driven 97 40th with 136k miles

Yep, that's in the sticks. Sounds like Stokes Co near the Dan River to me, but I think the county line is not far from there? Been a LOOOOOONG time.

looking at the map i may agree.... we crossed over the stokes/surry line several times getting there. I was just reading directions from the back.

and to get back on the wrenching track.....

coolant flush on the 80 and "sliders" in progress now...... RUN FROM ROCKY ROAD!! terribly underbuilt and fit leaves much to be desired.
Long list yet to do but were getting there one step at a time!

Haha I bout tagged you for your local negotiatin' skills ...

Negotiation is so much a local thing. Quite different in the 3 different areas I have lived. I have found around here everyone goes straight to "What's the lowest price you'll take" On the selling side, that is when I go with a high number because I am well aware what's coming. On the buying side I try to channel my inner "Danny" Koker from the show Counting Cars. His negotiating style works and have worked for me as well.

Negotiating when I lived in the Keys was never the same twice. There are so many people there from different cultures and places that half the time you had no clue what they were thinking. I have had people try to negotiate prices on a set of blue prints like they were buying a car.

All in all, I enjoy negotiating

I dislike negotiation and am really bad at it. Buying a new car using TrueCar.com was really easy. Priced the car we wanted, went to the dealership and told them the price. They met me within $500 and I didn't sweat over that. The wife is good at it, she convinced them to include a leather bag.

Although Laura enjoyed driving Sam's latest addition last night around our 'hood, I think I could convince her to let me buy one like that after the LV is gone. Like Rafael has been telling me all along, I need an 80.

Finally got the Engo done. Had to fab up a few more spacer than I thought but once everything was fabbed it was a pretty easy install. Used some metal stock and attached it to the acc holes in the ARB. Used some wire loom from @fourtrax to protect the power and ground wiring. So happy with how it turned out. Will try and get some more detailed pics this weekend.

Going to try and get the window runs and ARB compressor completed before Logans run but will have to see what happens.

New belts, Tstat, coolant, plugs,wires, dizzy cap/rotor/oring, fusible links, rad foam, harness wrap, OEM floormats, and alarm removal on the 40th anniv here. Plus a bath, now she's ready to head back home to the new owner

Also fixed the stinkbug problem. No spacers required, Shop vac worked perfect There are piles of them behind every panel!!!
