Not exactly hardcore tech, and I'm very late to the party, but:

Kroil > PB Blaster

Nuts and bolts are coming off w/o issue using Kroil. I am sure ultimately some will break, but so far so good, and the can of 'Blaster was donated to the household hazardous waste collection today.

Did you order it from online or find a local source like auto parts store. I haven't found in my area but I haven't looked to hard either.

I picked up some stuff called knocker loose at Oreillys that is much better than pb blaster but at 14 a can I would like to make sure it's the best.

I also have probably half a dozen half full cans of pb that won't spray

Ordered it from Amazon - got a can of liquid, and a can of AeroKroil.

Need two driveshafts built. The first gen needs front and back dual Cardon long travel driveshafts. Any recommendations of where to purchase ?

Your best bet is to buy a used front shaft that already has the DC on it. Take that with you to the shaft shop and have them use the new to you DC on the rear shaft.

Are you looking to have driveshafts you have rebuilt or have brand new shafts made?

I've had great luck with Oliver's Driveshafts in Winston Salem. High Angle Driveline is good, so is Tom Woods.

Going on Stan's advise I am going to have two front DC shafts rebuilt and resized to fit with the dual cases. That's why I am looking for a somewhat local shop here in the Raleigh area so I am able to drop off the shafts with measurements and have them built.

HUGE thank you to @fj40z for picking up my new-to-me flatbed and helping me install it Friday night!!! Was a heck of a day, didn't get home till almost 1:30am but it was worth it. HUGE thank you to @jfz80 for helping turn wrenches till way past dark as well Love you guys, can't thank you enough.

As some of y'all saw, I had a 1FZ on the back of Mayhem at the monthly meeting. Well, this is the easiest way to unload it.

And this is the easiest way to load the flat bed

Pulled the bed back off at our worksite to do some prep:

Stuck it back on in the dark. Definitely eventful. No way I would have been able to do this myself:

Got it bolted/welded in and wired up yesterday. Need to wire the 7-pin and I'll be good to go for many miles to come.

Glad to do it Johnny!! And a big thanks to you for grabbing the motor for me! Also a big thanks from to to @jfz80 for all the help getting the bed installed. It was actually a fun evening. Not something you get to do everyday. @GLTHFJ60 had everything ready to go so it really went very smoothly.

Del, use the DC from the second front drive shaft to be added to your current rear drive shaft. It's just easier and cheaper than buying a new DC.

Ok. Quick question. To have drive shafts lenghthened do I simply measure from the flange on the transfer case to the flange on the dif.? The front is the stock driveshaft that will be longer now that I have dual cases. The rear will be a front driveshaft lenghthened to fit as a rear driveshaft. This allows me to have dual cardin shafts both front and rear.

Since I am using stock drive shafts I figure the only thing I need to do is measure the distance and that should be it.

Anyway, since I have never done this I figure I would ask for help.

time. Ok now I understand what you mean.
I found a few driveshafts and going to pick them all up so I can have spares

I want to drop them off as soon as possible so I want to get the measurements correct.

So I've got an older (early 2000s) Stihl 018c chainsaw that I got used.

So far, I've rebuilt the stock carb and installed a new chinese carb...and a new spark plug and air filter.

All it will do is spit and sputter and eventually even out for a few secs with the choke on, and when I open the choke just a fraction, it revs to full throttle (and beyond it seems...it really screams) regardless of throttle input. It will rev to 10 million RPMs and then cut off. The only way to keep it running is to feather the choke arm and hold it about between closed and 1% open. Even then it chokes off.

When it runs, it sounds fine (well until it revs to oblivion)

It seems as though there is an air leak and thats why it only runs on only choke but I have no idea where that would be. The part about over revving confuses me without throttle input is weird as well. Anyone here have more insight? The rebuilt carb and the new carb behave the same. Thanks
