We used to glass sand the cylinder heads on RC helicopter and airplane heads when I was into it. Never did it on anything big.

Pressing those upper ball joints in/out was a pain in the butt
UCAs are so expensive for the aftermarket ones But, I think I am lazy enough to pay the $$ for them to avoid the stock UBJ work.

The ball joint wasn't too bad. The outer race on the bushings was real PITA.
Today I'll clean'em up a put the POR15 to them.

All wire brushed, sanded, degreasesd, and acid etched. Now just drying in the sun before taping and paint.

I spent the afternoon fighting my p0401.....followed 98snakeeaters YouTube vid, and could get my truck to sputter bot not stall while clamping down on the hoses....removed and cleaned the egr and the other hockey puck up top. then cleaned out the vacuum passageways in the plenum, had a blockage. while it was off, I removed the wrap from the harness, and looked at the wires . looked good, so I rewrapped with some high heat reflective tape. then replaced all the vacuum lines. 1st test drive was great...2nd drive to get gas threw the code when I started up. I guess we are now into parts instead of cheap stuff....
If the resistor will allow it to pass inspection, im game for it. Is there a radio shack left in town, or does someone have a mail order stash they need to get rid of? Id be game to make an alum block off plate where the egr connects to the intake, and plop the resistor in place.

Research what size resistor you need and there is a better than 95% chance I have it or have the combination of resistors to make it happen. Once installed we can clear your codes and, after some drive time, see if that does the job.
Cooldeal Rice, Thanks. Ive got an ultragauge, so clearing the code isnt a problem. Best $79.00 I've spent. Back in the day around our house, it was chock full of tubes, resistors, transistors, capacitors, etc. That all went away as my Dad's company focused more on design rather than repair and installation.

Yellow Purple Red .... got it. Mine are 1-Watt resistors which only means they will dump the heat better.
cool, so if i read the thread properly, I just take one of the resistors, solder on some connector tabs for it, and slide it in place of the connector. and if i want to be stealthy, i can gut the sensor side of the connector and button it up, or hide both ends of the connector behind/under the intake. Daughter is driving it today, so i cant nose around underneath right now.

Had to move a battery under the hood of an FJ40 from behind the bumper. The only support is the frame rail, 12" below the bottom of the battery an it had to clear the fender well header too. BTF battery box, mounted to all 16 gauge sheet metal support. I rolled some beads in for extra strength. It is rock solid, no movement at all and very light to boot.
