troopy came in on friday, but couldn't pick it up until yesterday. gonna try and take some pics at lunch. it's been used alot, but i'm very pleased. nothing major wrong with it. runs excellent steering sux, brakes are bad, but the a/c works. it's an 82 model (bill of sale says 79) with a full floater and an h41(is that the one with a low first gear?). all the pieces are there, four bench seats in the back. jack and tool kit. nice new project.

Congrats!

What transportation company did you use?

Looking forward to seeing more pics.

Brian

H41 is low gear nice.....probably titled as a 79 for customs?

soooo stoked for ya! can't wait to see the pics.

so a question comes to mind; yours has bench seats? mine has 2 bucketts in the front. what's everybody else have in their troopies? i guess i should really start a new thread.....

i don't know why i can't make them any bigger.

i used das to ship it from la to tunica, ms. no problems there.

bench seats up front, and four more in the back. one funny thing-it has fourwheel drum brakes. i know it's at least a 79'. it's got factory a/c and the gas tank is under the truck. and a sqare bezel. drums are kind of squirrely. i've already got power steering parts on the way. can i put power steering on there with a/c?? the compressor is on the passenger side and the alt. is mounted low on the driver side and i've got the bracket that mounts to the top of the head. it looks like it will work, but wondering if anyone knows for sure.

should be a closer view of the interior. a/c is niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. one more question. there aren't any lockout hubs on here. don't know if you can see in the pic, but will warns just bolt on there?

Nice Troopy! A/C is nice, and almost mandatory in MS :) .

i'm pretty sure that all the troopie sup till the end of 81 had drum brakes, they also came with full float rear axles and 16" split rims. i would assume that the drum front axles would be course spline outers. if so, lemme know, i have a set of warn coarse spline hubs laying around........
is yours gas or diesel?

it's gas. i think it has about a 20 gallon tank. anybody know? i've got split rims, but they look like 15". the tires say 9.5x15.

first thing i gotta do is get a title. i have to get a title bond from my insurance company, an affidavit of ownership and then an inspection from the ms highway patrol. all i have is a bill of sale from ca. then............

1. power steering
2. disc brakes
3. lockout hubs
4. 2.5 or 4 inch suspension lift. probably ome
5. radio
6. weather stripping

oh geez, i'm reminded how this started with my 40 now.

I thought that the foreign cruisers used the same birfs but had drum brakes.. Should be as easy as swapping out knuckles and you shouldn't need new birfs etc. I'm curious what's in there when you swap it out.. I doubt toyota would use course spline stuff if they changed the majority of their trucks over to fine spline.
