Hey guys, I’ve had a Trekker for a little while and now that I have a drivetrain donor I’m looking into getting the bodywork rolling on it.

It’s an ‘82 with no rear hinges, gaskets or window, and the seal between the cab and fiberglass portion is pretty much missing.

I think I found a vendor to supply those parts (Toyota fiberglass), but am not sure how to go about sealing between the cab and shell, and repairing the damage to the fiberglass.

I’ve never worked with fiberglass and don’t really know where to begin. The damage isn’t serious or structural, just need it looking good under paint. Any recommendations before I dive in? Bondo glass? Thanks!

I worked on a camper shell years back and found most my info on YouTube and info through westmarine.com. The WestSystem kits are the best, or we’re at the time. It’s all about prep and mixing your proportions right. WestSystem kind takes the error out tho.

Evercoat fiber tech is a good product for small fiberglass repairs. I’ve used it a handful of times on corvettes and had good results. It’s just like body filler except for fiberglass. Wear a respirator.
