nope i dont have rubbing just would like to go with Mud Terrain i already installed the suspention but i dont know i am comparing bfgoodrich M/T to Swamper LTB.

Thanks SALEH for the reply. Just want to make sure of any rubbing issues on 315s. I don't see any solid front ones just yet. And since I'm a newbie here in this forum, I presumed that you got a solid front axle.

Cheers.

I have a few thousand miles on the set I put on my 80.

I had a small local business install them and they did'nt balance well at all on their spin balancer.

I went with 285's and the size and weight were noticable.

I have the 315 toyo oc m/t on my 100 series and really like them. Pretty quiet for a mud terrain, and they balanced well. I have had several sets of MTR's and it seems like I could never get them balanced well. I would buy the toyo's again

Has anyone had first hand experience with the new Toyo open country m/t tires? I have heard nothing but praise about these tires, and I just ordered a set of 285/75/R16`s for my 2000 100 series...I am just wondering what to expect with these so called "ultimate m/t `s" ... Thanks so much for your time ! :bounce:

I'd like to run the Toyo's if they offered them in the same overall width as the MT/R...however the extra 1-1.25" of tread width on the Toyo's complicates already tight clearance issues...

And yes...the MT/R's are challenging to get balanced!

yes, i needed spacers to fit my 315s. i couldnt see any other way with out the spacers. but it was well worth it IMO. love the tire, love the performance, love the stance, love the look. i will either get the toyos again or expirement with something a little different from the norm

I'm running 1" spacers in front...but it would still be tight, as you know, with the Toyo's (to the steering knuckle) for mud and the occasional tire chains I need to run. And without limiting the compression of the rear axle with the Toyos the rub would be unacceptable to me. I still rub with the 315 MT/R's in the rear but it is manageable and more preferable to me than limiting the travel in the rear.

i run 1" spacers front and rear. i have no problems rubbing in the front, even in deep mud. however i dont know how they look or how close they are to the knuckle or a-arm compressed and fully turned. however you could extend the turn stops, which seems like its a must-do for people running regular 315s w/o spacers.

as for the rear, they have only rubbed on a test track deal. the trails that i have ran so far dont flex out the suspension too much. but to combat the lower bump stops, just run some N74L shocks ;p:D

i need to find some rocks

If you guys running the Toyo M/T are using your truck as a DD, how much vibration are you noticing campared to an A/T you might have had in the past? How far are you commuting? Does the M/T grab the voids in the road or drift?

I have 3 sets on my cruisers.

By far the best tire I have run with. Not sure where the data is saying MTRs have a thicker sidewall?

With the 16" tire you are getting the D and E load ratings. I haven't had a single issue. My MTRs on my 100 series are less desirable, I've had to replace 2 tires do to sidewall failure from daily driving.

My first set went on my FZJ80 and they are still going strong after 22K miles. I have taken it off and on road without a single problem. When we are on the trails I run about 11lbs of air in them.

Second set went on my FJ60 same as the 80. Good wear patterns.

3rd set went on my troopy. It is a daily driver / expedition rig.

For the size of tire I have never had a balance issue at all. In fact the tire guys commented on how well they balanced.

They make some noise on the freeway, but are less noisey than my MTRs. After owning Toyo MTs I will never go back to MTRs. I have 18K on my MTRs and less than half the tread is gone. I believe 5/32nds or so.

so to sum it up with real world experience. Yes you will be happy with the MTs offroad and on.

It looks like the 100 series crowd needs wheel spacers when running the 315s, but does the 80 series with a 4" SLEE lift require spacers to prevent rubbing???

Bull? Can you comment on this since you've got 'em on the 80?

On the 80 the front will be fine. Under full articulation in the rear they will rub in the fenderwell with a 4' lift. The spacers are more of a widening the stance to cope with the extra height.

I have over 20k on mine, I'd say I have over 50% tread left. They drive great on the highway. I've done 10k in the last 9 weeks on them. They are loud on grooved pavement but I think every tire is. Also they get louder as they get older. There is no comparison in sidewall strength to an MTR. MTRs slice open like butter on the lava rocks in Idaho and these do not. There are two things I don't like about them: price and weight. But you have to pay for quality tires and without the wieght I don't think I'd have the strong sidewalls.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but what is the general consensus for those that have been using the Toyo's for a while? I am looking at the 285/75R16's. Are they hard to balance? Are they loud on the road? Do they do well in the snow and rain?

Really easy to balance, louder than a BFG A/t on the road, great in snow and no problems in the rain.

You should see his shop and the garage.

I've wheeled with people running the Toyo MT and they perform awesome off road. As far as on road, in the rain or snow, they would not perform as well as the NTG's you are using now.
