For some reason, which I haven't yet been able to source so far so the only thing I can come up with is low tire pressure in one tire, one of my two front tires is excessively worn at the outside.

All four are Michelin LTX M/S, 275-65/18, all replace the same time in 2019.

The rear's look fine as does the other front tire, maybe 50+% even tread life left. About 30k miles on them and approx 6 yrs old.

I'm thinking of just replacing the fronts, where the one worn tire is, but I can only find the M/S2, is is very similar.

Any reason to NOT replace just the fronts? It would be with the same size = 275-65-18.

Thanks in advance for any info and insights shared.

Not recommended for a full time 4wd vehicle, but that could also just be big tire selling you 4 tires instead of 2.
yeah, that was my concern, but being in a big chitty like Los Angeles, I imagine I could sell the three good ones on Craig's.

The tires at 50% tread will in theory be spinning faster than the new tires up front due to the smaller diameter of the used tires. This is hard on your drive train on a full time 4WD vehicle. Would it cause major problems? I dont really know lol

I always run a matching spare and do a 5 tire rotation. That way if a tire gets damaged I still have 4 matching tires. Its more expensive up front but you in theory get a little longer life rotating in 5 tires and if one goes bad you dont have to replace a bunch of good tires.
