Does anyone know if there was a different radiator P/N for the towing prep pack versus standard? or if its the same cooling package, or the same radiator plus an external trans cooler?

All things Towing thread, weight, trailer type, etc..

I don't believe there was any difference in the set-ups on any of the GX's but there may be a difference with the engine change in 05'

I have the 7 pin and I'm pretty sure I have the cooler (I can't remember off the top of my head) but when I bought it the radiator had been replaced with "oe parts" though i don't think it is. I tow a light (3500) load with mine and the trans temps get kinda hot as do the coolant temps, not crazy hot but well into the 210's. I just replaced the rad on my 80 series with an all metal design that runs crazy cool (never above 186) and it got me thinking about the replacement in my gx...wondering if there is a lesser capacity radiator for non-towing package trucks with a smaller oil cooling galley or less overall capacity.

I can hit 210 on a hill climb without towing and mine typically runs at 197 but will quickly go over 200 on any kind of incline. I would think you are fine as long as you are not loosing coolant or the system is cooling back down once stress is over.

I think I've settled on that being fact but It occurred to me to ask just to see.

From what I have seen, all GX470's have a transmission cooler and Lexus sells one radiator model, so I expect the radiators to be identical.
