Also, I have seen people rent a trailer using one rig and then go home and swap it to another. All is ok I guess as long as there is no major issues. If so, the contract states the original combination will only be insured.
...and if there's an accident, I'll bet U-Haul will sue you for trailer damages, loss of use, and everything else. You don't want to be 'uninsured' when things go wrong and your truck-trailer combo wipes out a busload of nuns. Recall that U-haul basically won't connect any trailer to a variety of Ford Explorers, after the various Explorer debacles. They are very lawsuit-sensitive, and rightly so, sadly.
