Nice!

Great work...You'll love the Toyo OCMT's....not the MOST awesome snow tire but a great all-arounder that wears like steel.

I put 12000km on those tires this summer, all highway. Apart from looking completely mean, they do wear like steel! Super impressed with them even in the snow, for what they are; it's on the ice where they really pale.

I'm in the beginning stages of planning a trip up to your area from Florida, sometime next summer. Specifically, I want to get down to kakwa falls and then over to Prince George area. Looks like a beautiful area.

Kakwa falls is an amazing formation, and while the drive in isn't any real challenge it is a lot of fun!

Neglected a few updates on this build.

Cruisin' offroad rear bumper. Another superb piece by Jason. The item on the left swing out is a slip tank. Looking at roughly 230L on board now.

This days off (six day week end) was a particular push.
Replaced my thermostat

Madman EMS1.
Still need to wire in the coolant and oil temp sensors, which are plumbed into my veggie oil HEx loop.

So, out test driving the EGT. Saw temps come up to 200-300°c range driving around town. Would drop very fast when nor accelerating.

As my caption on the thermostat photo said, with the new thermostat I was getting super hot air into the cabin, and my rear HEx loop was finally seeing heat, (had been thinking it was air locked).
I saw about 600°c on the pyro.
When I parked, the EGT dropped right down to -77°c. I will righteously complain about how cold it was in the morning installing that probe out in the driveway, but I know it wasnt that cold.
One thing I didn't do, was use a grounding point on the engine block for the EMS1 unit.
I'll be trying that tomorrow.

The build continues,
a road radio for all the high traffic back country industry roads up here.

made the great sacrifice of that one good OEM cupholder.
Also plumbed in a line so I could gravity feed my slip tank into my aux tank with a fairly easy disconnect. makes draining the aux and slip tanks easier

When I first bought the truck, the auto was a nice break because I was learning to drive 18spds for work, which was a brain full on its own. After that skill had settled in, I was longing for the familiar stick shift.
The 5spd swap came after a long long research and parts search period. I was active on a number of threads about 5spds and was in contact with other members who had taken out their auto and put in a manual transmission.

Finally, when a group buy opportunity came up I pulled the trigger. We bought a lot of the parts, bit by bit, and then the big purchase of the gear boxes.

The pallet was shipped to Calgary and I went to pick it up. A thought occurred to me to look for a garage space to rent in calgary and sure enough there was one available.

They were super helpful, and after a fashion almost as excited at my swap as I was. The rates were reasonable and I had access to almost every tool I needed for my swap. It took me about 5 full days. Not bad for someone who has never done anything like this before.

I will say this about the A442f, it is definitely a luxury transmission. Or rather was. The difference between the A442f and the H151f is like the difference between driving a passenger car and a freight truck! The long throw of the stick shift takes more time than the short gears to rev up.
I couldn't be happier with it!
Not only was the project a great accomplishment for me (we are actually waiting for two last parts to fully complete it), but it has made driving my 80 more exciting and at the same time I find great comfort in the straight forward, reliability of the manual gear box, as well as the ability to roll start, should my batteries die.
The H151f isn't for everyone, for sure. But it is definitely for this guy. :steer:
