They just ran over that s*** right?!?
Kidding. Laziness epidemic is spreading.
Instead of picking up the 3 or 4 things sitting in the grass and tossing them on the porch, they just mowed around them at high speed as best they could to get done with the least amount of inconvenience. There’s probably 1/3 of my back yard that just wasn't mowed. I will give them a tiny bit of credit, they didnt run anything over with the mower out there that was in the grass![]()
So, the property manager of our rental has a company cut our grass. Normally if I’m home, I’ll pick up the yard before they come. So, I’ve been out of toe. For work, and guess what happens?
The lazy ****ers went ahead and mowed around a few of the toys my kids left in the yard. Not my house, not my grass and not my money, but ‘cmon man.

Even @custyota‘s boys wouldn’t to that sh!t when they were cutting my grass back in the day![]()
I was driving through some old logging roads on my grandparents farm in GA, and unfortunately for me I had an altercation with a small tree. It got stuck behind my AC dryer and tipped it 10°, just enough to tear the line where it goes in to the dryer. Not wanting to drive home in 100° heat without AC, I looked for a shop. The guy my grandpa has work on stuff was out of town so we found another guy. He charged me 3 damn hours of labor to replace the AC dryer and the line coming off of it and recharge it. If I had known he was just going to replace everything I would’ve done it myself and saved $225! I thought he could repair the line. And I know that didn’t take him three hours, it’s a grand total of like 4 bolts.
The total was $340, $225 of labor. I just don’t see how it took three hours to remove the two bolts that hold the dryer on and the one bolt on either end of the hard line and replace and rechargeI dont think $225 is unreasonable for the repair. Alctually he has to spend some money on buying the tools to do the job that are part of that 3 hrs job. I think on the big picture you came out good.
I understand, but put it this way. That mechanic had a building, he probably pays rent or mortgage on it. He has the tools, and the refrigerant machine, pressure set up and vacuum pump. He still probably did not spend the 3 hrs on the truck but he has man hrs on it. Between ordering parts and other stuff. Most mechanics work on a flat rate. At least me and my technicians do. So, if it take me two hrs. I make money if it take 4 hrs. I loose money. At $75 an hrs he probably takes $125 to $150 home “if that” after over head and cost. Like many of us here we like to work on our trucks and do some thing ourselves. That doesnt mean that a professional mechanic shouldnt make a the money he deserves. You new what work had to be done, most people dont and he solve the problem. The total was $340, $225 of labor.
