3/4 plug is on my list. Going to have to order one. Nobody stocks them in the burbs.

We have liftoff. Engine runs, makes pressure. Time to wire up gauges and other stuff now! Guess i could hook up a throttle cable now.

All it really takes to fire a 3fe.

That is awesome..... So how many wires on the "dash plug" to the computer have to be hooked up to run?

One efi fuse 15 amp which is inline to the computer. Just connect one side to the other with a 15 amp in the middle. St1 which is hot on start and run to the computer with 7.5 amp which jumps black with blue stripe. one acc hot which jumps black with yellow stripe with a 7.5 amp to tell the alternator to charge. and i jumped black with yellow to check engine light. You don't need much. I will marry the regular 45 harness to it next. I used all fj62 harness for alternator, ignition switch and hot with key. I will only use the accessories out of the 45 harness to run lights, turn, brake, wipers etc. I will remove the amp gauge and original voltage regulator wiring and main hot out of the 45 harness.

Finally remembered the splash guards. And had to spin a motor mount 180 to clear battery tray mount. Not a lot of room in there after ac compressor is back in place. Will have to move battery tray back further than anticipated. Remembered the splash guards

Trying to dig parts out to get a correct vss is a pain.

So, it appears you reset the milage on the top unit. You said the right VSS, so some sort of speed sensor, are you just trying to get the right mph to read based on your gear ratio and tire size? Or is there more you are needing to establish here?

Trying to obtain four pulses per revolution for the 3fe. I have at my disposal about four speedimeter assemblies. One out of a pig had the proper pulses but was frozen so will see if it works after assembly. Also changing gauges below speedometer and adding turn signals into cluster instead of on dash. Will use old dash signal housings for check engine and alt dummy light. Adding el wire for cluster lights during rewire process.

Getting there working on signals and grounds next. Will repaint face of cluster after it works.

Ignition switch pin out. I'm using an FJ62 wiring harness to run the fuel injection, alternator, starter, gauges. I cut everything extra out and will be grafting in the FJ45 harness. I'm running an FJ40 later steering column and needed to graft the FJ62 ignition switch to the FJ40 column. As you can see there is a size difference and size does matter in this application. The FJ62 ignition switch has 8 positions of which 6 are used.
FJ62 has (the #'s will correspond with the FJ40 wiring harness) labeling the wires off the Fj62 harness
#1---Blk and Blk with Green stripe- Both go directly to battery fusable links.
#2---Blue with Red (accessory).
#3---Black with Blue stripe and Black with Yellow stripe (Ignition)
#4---Black with White stripe (Start circuit)

FJ40 harness has 4 pins. After tracing all the wires I have determined I can reduce to 5 pins by removing one of the wires directly to battery. So I removed all the pins out of the FJ62 ignition switch plug and all the pins out of the FJ40 plug. I reinstalled as follows.
#1 FJ40 Black with red stripe to Black on FJ62 harness
#2 FJ40 Blue with Red stripe to Blue with Red strip FJ62 harness
#3 FJ40 Black with Yellow stripe to Black with Blue strip and Black with yellow stripe (need to solder those together and install other pin jumping to two slots instead of one)
#4 FJ40 Blue with Red stripe to Black with white on FJ62 harness.

Should only need one solder joint to mate the two switches and it'll be plug and play. And saved the ignition switch as a spare for my wagon. Instead of removing the Black with Blue on the 62 harness I cut out one wire that wasn't used on the switch on the 62 and will solder that to the Black with Yellow and pin it into the plug. Why kill a perfectly good spare switch!

After I solder the last wire I"ll report back if it works or not. Should be fine just didn't finish it all last night.

Man looks awesome. I have some of the powdercoat for the trim if you want to go that way instead of paint. Price is right :)

Kelly i have to spray the seat frames and some other stuff as well and have time before i get that far. Will let u know. Chris those look interesting might test a couple not sure how i feel about not seeing the solder joint under the splice before shrink wrap.

Cluster wired except turns. Added another ground to cluster and wires vss into cluster. High beam indicator works and power to light harness in front. Need to wire relays for headlights and figure out turn and hope to add a hazard switch. In the meantime will work on adding fuel pump wiring, squirter, and reverse lights. All of which didnt exist in 64.

Dash not much to look at yet.
