SEM Rock It Liner

Recently used SEM's new undercoating product and like it. Very easy to mix and spray with the supplied shutz gun. The directions suggest spraying with 40-60psi which works well. I turned it up to 90psi and was able to spray in all the nooks and crannies along the belly of the tub. In some areas, it looks like the tub was dipped. It's easy to control buildup of material and it remains slightly pliable once cured.

Good stuff and I may coat the interior floor and bed.

Yesterday I put in a new ignition switch in the 80 as I was getting a "delayed start". I took part of the dash out and was greeted with a bunch of hacked wires from what appears to be some kind of anti-theft device or kill switch thing. The people who put it in used much smaller gauge wire then they should have. The power wire used to engage the starter had been cut and its a good size wire. They used what looks like speaker wire to run to this anti-theft pos. I replaced the switch anyways as it is 15 years old and they seem to be a major issue with 80's. I'm going back in there today hopefully to finish the wire clean up and using some appropriate size wire to carry some juice to the starter solenoid. Hope it warms up a bit before I get back out there!!

If this continues thats where I'll head next. I'm still betting that the smaller speaker wires the po used for the alarm/remote starter are my issue, I did not get to replace them today but this week. Thanks for the tip Rick!

Its not a LC VS mini truck thing, the knuckles are all the same size ( they take the same rebuild kits) The same mod needs to be done on Mini's axles to get the larger 30Spline bell's to fit. I cant tell how much you took off the inside of the trunnion areas, but I had to take a TON off to get mine to fit.

Spend the money on Marlins inner axle seals, they are worth the cash IMOP.

No wonder I needed such a high output steering pump. I was using it as a grinder.....:steer:

Rick glad to see you have the steering issue solved. That 40 is already a beast i think its time for some 80 series axles and a linked suspension:wrench::hillbilly:

Got the 2F back mostly back together after yesterday will the help of Rick and Nat. Just need to install the timing cover, valvetrain, oil pan and valve cover.

Didn't have my camera so no pics :frown:

I finally can say I got something done... replaced the VSV on the 80. Was much easier than I thought it would be... it was definitely bad but I'm not sure it will get rid of my P0402 CEL.

Hope to have it installed for the 2012 wheeling season. Gives me plenty of time
to collect parts etc.

Gawd that thing is ugly!
but it looks better in your shop than mine! :bounce:

a 402 is excessive EBR recirculation and I would look at a stuck EGR valve, blocked control line, bad modulator or the vacuum lines routed incorrectly.

EGR checked out, modulator checked out and all vacuum lines were clear and in the proper place. I did the tests per the FSM and the VSV was not acting as it should... when I got it out it was plugged and the resistance across the terminals was out of range stated in the FSM. One thing I just forgot to check and am planning to do still is the temp sensor. Only been a couple days but light is still off...

Well a blocked VSV would turn the EGR on all the time. That is not the usual failure of that valve, it usually fails open all the time. You probably fixed it with that part. Congrats, that system stymies a lot of people.

Ugly, but the price was right! It was fun getting it out of my 40 and on the stand with-out any kind of hoist!
