These two holes didn't line up at all.

I added a hole on the left and the right one was elongated. There are nuts on the backs of these which is a PITA. However, with the added access holes I almost never need to remove them.

For $200 it's great. If it takes one big hit that would otherwise have damaged something then it's paid for itself. Stout isn't the word I would use though.

If you like to play in the rocks then get the SLEE.

If you're 100 is unlocked front and rear and you're plan A is usually plan B these will get trashed in a hurry.

Things I don't like:

The folded lip at the back of the oil pan guard. I haven't had an issue but I can foresee it getting caught when I'm reversing. That and it will shovel mud up onto the guard. At the very front where the oil pan guard mates to the stock skid there is a bit of a fish mouth opening that will surely pack full of mud. I haven't been in any mud yet so we'll see this spring how it works.

Mud packing in it is going to be the issue with this thing I think. I may even make some removable covers for the access holes similar to the original.

Hmm.... I hear ya. The trails I hit are pretty rocky and I've already put some nice scraps/dents in my Slee sliders, while my underside remains unprotected (heard an interesting “crunch” last time I was out).

Just don't know if I've got the funds for Slee skids at the moment, I’ve been dropping a bunch of cash on other projects lately. I thought it might be nice to have the TMJ skids, as you mentioned, as insurance. If it does the job once, they've paid for themselves.

I've done some trails I said I wouldn't do with this rig with the factory skid and been fine. You just have to realize that you're a bit more vulnerable and wheel accordingly. That said I did finally trash that plastic shield. These I think are definitely better. If rock crawling is mainly what you do though definitely get the SLEE's. Better yet get an 80. lol I wish somebody would make an exact replica of the factory engine undercover out of steel.
 
One other thing to note, these definitely reduce the amount of ground clearance under the tranny. So it's a case of No protection but more clearance or less clearance more protection with these. I'm trying hard to wheel this thing more mildly than I am used to so we'll see how it goes. lol

I'm about 1/2 way done with my 55, which will be my main play rig.

The 100 is just my temp rig (it will be the camping-mobile once the 55 is done). But, on club runs, it's lately become..." Let's see what the 100 can do"...


I'll be interested to see what the OP has to say once installed.

Couple quick questions,

Do you have slee's diff drop? Any issues there? Also I know you have the ARB front, any issues with alignment there other than what's been pictured earlier with a few new holes here/there?

Found the Fumoto valve.
That looks really good, especially with the nipple.
Did you need an adaptor?
 
From the website: Adaptors are used when the drain hole is recessed and does not allow a valve to seat properly onto the sump
 
Cool. It looks very easy with it although on this forum I hav eread people who didn't like them.

Wow. $200 bucks. I think these will be my next purchase.

As for the X, I'm sure it gives it just enough added strength to keep it from "oil canning". I have a bead roller and you'd be surprised how even a small bead in a big sheet of steel will give it significant rigidity.

I'm experiencing this now with my prototype Brown Davis bash plates. The larger one at the back which protects my gearbox now rattles as it flexes when i brake or go around corners. There's no beading in it or any other support and the 3 plates have been on for 6 or so years. It's really annoying now and i can hear it even with the mud tyres and radio on !! All 3 will be coming off to be powder coated after the large one is strengthened.

I too will be looking at adding a hole for the Fumoto drain plug so you don;t have to take off the front plate everytime you do an oil change. The last place that changed my oil threaded the bolts so i need to get that fixed too. :-/
