I have both plates but have not bothered fitting the rear one two years later.
It isn't just a bolt up design and as such requires you to measure and drill holes to bolt it up. Just haven't needed it enough to bother yet.

Mine sat for a while too. Not to mention I got the first one a good two months before the second. In that same vein, I also have a new gas tank skid that's been sitting in my garage for 6 months.
