TJM says they will be in anytime, until then.

Hey guys,
Been waiting since mid September for my paid order of TJM sump / transmission guard from Jonesy's Offroad, but there seems to be a problem with availability as of last e-mail exchange a week ago and no further info as of now...
Do you know who has them in stock?

I've abused mine and I'm fairly impressed with how they've held up (given the price). That being said, I haven't taken them off and tried to put them back on.

I have played with the idea of beefing them up with some angle iron.??? Any thoughts?

The issue isn't mine being dented, it's them collapsing near the 90* bend. The entire skid plate is bent to the driver side. I'll take a picture in the morning and post up. My TJM's are very deformed...I guess the 3mm steel isn't up for a 8,000lb+ impact on rocks. Then again, not too much stuff is...

I will admit they do hold up well for hard wheeling, but the first time the truck is "dropped" or slides off a ledge and the skid plate takes the blunt of the fall, they are gone.

I think the durability is fine for added peace of mind while overlanding. The design is just poor. The bolt holes should be slotted for refitting since they block access to the oil drain, ATF drain and driveshaft.

They seem to be way lower than they need to be for around the torsion bars.

What vehicle is this pic from? It looks like a trailing/locating arm on the driver's side and a leaf spring on the passenger side?

Does anybody know the size/pitch/thread for the plastic guard?

Don't know the size/pitch/thread but here are the part numbers. I'm going to be ordering these skids. Bump for more feedback from anyone that's been using these.

Do these skids need to be trimmed to fit with sliders (MetalTech)?

I have a 1999 LC and they fit just fine with my metal tech sliders.

Ok......... time to swallow some pride here... :grinpimp:

Not my most "aware" wheelin' moment. Lack of concentration and a bit of foolin' around had me perched on my TJM skids. They held up admirably.

Sorry for reviving a dead thread, but this seemed like the best place to ask. Seeing as the transmission plate doesn't seem to cover much, and appears to be a pain to mount, is it worth it? I know its only $70, but it almost seems like more work than its worth.

Also the sump guard seems to angle down in the back reducing clearance and possibly acting as a scoop for mud. Is there a way to bend this up, or something?

Just got my set after 1 1/2 month wait time from summit racing. $200 to my door can't beat it.
The big one (Tjm-077sbsum81u) weighs about 38 lbs
the smaller (Tjm-077sbtra81u) one must weigh 20 lbs.
picture shows how thick (0.160 in.) it is with a very good coating of black powder-coating. Worth it for the wait and price IMHO.

I actually just installed a set last week. I figured that for $200, it was worth whatever protection it could give. For the three bolts that attach the skids, I actually elongated the hole to 20mm so that I have some wiggle room when installing it. Worked out well. I will say I wish there was a sturdier skid for the transfer case.

Here are the holes I made:

Not sure how I've never seen these until now, I destroyed my stock skid for good this past weekend. Looks like these are in the budget so I think I'll pick a set up. Is the rear trans skid really needed? I don't go too hard and I believe that area is open from the factory right?

Ok so after some quick research, Summit has the sump skid listed as "Sump Guard Fits Nissan D22 Frontier & Nissan Navara 03+"... Is that the one you ordered @cybrstar? http://www.summitracing.com/search?...h&SortOrder=Ascending&keyword=TJM-077SBSUM81U

That's what I ordered from Summit. Noticed it too, but it's the part #'s everyone said. Just a heads up mine was expected delivery at the end of this month, now it's backordered and expected to ship from Australia 1/03/2016 and be delivered 02/12/2016. Don't order if you're in a hurry to get them on, I'm thinking about canceling mine and having a local guy build some.
