So my 4x4 shop is installing my TJM snorkel and has run into a problem. Going from the snorkel to the airbox it doesnt match up. The TJM piece is round and the airbox is somewhat squared. Has anyone installed one of these and run into this? HELP!!!!

My buddy Greg installed this snorkel on his LX570 and here is his reply:

They need to trim the piece that bolts to the side of the engine compartment flush. The tube that accepts it sits in the wheel well and bolts to the wheel well side of the pass through. The part shown in the attached picture bolts to the engine bay side. I trimmed the tjm part to maximize air flow and then caulked and bolted it all together.

Nice!! I like that snorkel and since there is less of it following the quarter panel it might be a little better fit on the LX570 than the Safari snorkel.

My buddy Greg installed the same one on his LX and it looks great. It flows nicely with the body which is why I picked it up as well. My pile of parts to install is growing bigger...

Got any more? MORE!

Hi all, I know the OP got the issue worked out -- but for posterity...the lower airbox inlet of Aussie 200s are indeed round. If there's not an American version of the snorkel, the easiest thing to do is order the Aussie lower airbox part along with your snorkel. It's an inexpensive part and it will save you some silicone and a possible headache.

I don't know the Australian part number, but the American version is #5 in this drawing:

Ha! I was hoping to find another LX with a Prinsu and a lightbar when I logged on so you really killed two birds with one stone for me. Definitely going TJM snorkel, looks fantastic on the LX!! Let me know if you want to do a Lexus install party lol

Well we are getting a blizzard with wet heavy snow. I’m literally going 5mph-10mph and the air intake is definitely getting a little plugged but not bad since it has two locations It can draw air from.

The weather is literally the absolute worst case scenario

I’ll get pics
