Just out of curiosity, which shop installed your snorkel?
4 Wheel Parts in Broomfield. A bit of a drive for me but they're worth it.

and i have to say these guys are damn good. They cut my cross members so the tires wouldn't rub and it looks factory. They also have diagnosed a number of issues that i needed fixing that other shops didnt see. Good group maintains people in this shop. Reasonable prices too. snorkel install cost me $350, cross member cutting and welding cost $400. seems reasonable to me..

ok these pics are from going 5-10mph, and the wind and snow blowing from left to right...

Wow… You read my mind. Last night I was about to post a question about wet snow accumulation as it sweeps upward in line with the wind shield. That does not look good.

EDIT:
I was wrong. I couldn’t see the second vent at first. Brightened the pic and now see what I missed. Here’s a tweaked version that’s easier to spot:

this is seriously worst case scenario and when going faster it doesnt do it. if you look at my light bar you'll see 1/2" of snow on the lens. the wet heavy snow is no bueno for anything.
It has two vents, one facing forward and one on the inside facing left. the one facing left looks worse than it actually was, the top one was half clogged.

if you had an ARB it would have clogged much faster and has zero options of a second vent. Even if you reversed the head and the wind changed direction it would have clogged.

Thank you. Somehow I missed the 2nd vent.
Never seen it in person and in the photo it looked solid. I see now that it’s a grate on the left.

i seriously love this snorkel. the profile is perfect and i don't see it getting hung on any branches or carwashes...not that i can fit in any.. :/

I tweaked your photo a bit so it’s easier to see the grated left-facing vent in case others missed it in the shadow like me.

I was only seeing the clogged top, and missed the side. Much better.

I had this snorkel on a 100 series for 6 years in UT, ran through multiple car washes and snowstorms never once had an issue. The vents clogging on these is a big nothing burger, don't sweat it.

If these photos are from the storm we just got on Wednesday I can vouch that this is truly worst possible case scenario. At times I couldn't even see to the end of my own hood and would have to just stop and let the wind die down enough to keep crawling along. I did get to use the Lexus to pull a Police Office in a Rubicon out of a ditch. And at one point I got high centered pulling another car out and was able to just pop it into Low Range, Raise her up and drive right out like nothing. Good times!

These photos are from just playing around bashing some snow drifts in my cul de sac. This is before it got really gnarly and I had to go drive 30 miles across town. After that my windshield and tires where about the only thing that wasn't ice and snow.

P.S. - Ya'll are a bad influence. My TJM Snorkel just shipped this morning.

Hi all, I know the OP got the issue worked out -- but for posterity...the lower airbox inlet of Aussie 200s are indeed round. If there's not an American version of the snorkel, the easiest thing to do is order the Aussie lower airbox part along with your snorkel. It's an inexpensive part and it will save you some silicone and a possible headache.

I don't know the Australian part number, but the American version is #5 in this drawing:

HTH
Looks like the PN is 17751-38050 , but still it is not possible to use this, since lower part of air box has to be replaced. (from the first sight)

Good sleuthing. This inlet on the same page is made to fit a round intake in the fender, it doesn’t have the scoop on the fender side

17752-51011

I’m going to go pull my airbox and see if the inlet side won’t conform to a circle - I bet it will.

Lower airbox is $377, that can’t be what is intended based on above message,

I'm on a way of installing TJM and searching possible problems before i start. Seems as this difference of adapter is main issue. Haven't yet looked physically airbox but already bought snorkel. The price of round adapter is near nothing but comparing both, 17751-38050 (4.7 engine version) and 17751-38040 (what we have on 5.7) i see that this is different from both sides. I theory this is not looks bolt in replacement for me. Please confirm as soon as you look at your box.

P.s. what i found also is that 4.7 engine and 5.7 has the same air filter. 4.5 diesel is a bit different (not surprise)

I’m doing the same thing. Have a tjm clone. The part I mentioned is on the same page as the other, I guess that additional tube in the fender could be inlet from a turbo. It has the same bolt pattern, just less plastic to trim off the fender side

But how do you think to connect this with Airbox ? Do you think that connection 17752-51011 -> air box will be easier to adopt than Snorkel tube -> original inlet adapter ? Did i catch your idea ?

Yes, my clone has a round outlet inside the fender so a round adapter into the airbox would be much easier. This will fit the snorkel, just need to check the airbox adapter to see if it will fit a circle

Ok, same here. I think i will follow this way as well. Just need to check few things:
1. Which part will fit better, 17752-51011 (from 4.5 diesel version) or 17751-38050 (2UZ-FE 4.7 markets outside of US)
2. Will those part fit airbox, if not what is a way of connection (silicone, spacers and so on)

Also found that later 4.6 (1UR FE), international version, has similar with diesel intake system
1990754

And has two types of inlet. type 1 with tube and type 2 without.
Type 1 as it was at 4.7 (17751-38050) and Type 2 as it is at diesel (17752-5101)
Of course better to have hose parts on hand to compare.

And just for information, air filter remain the same as we have at 5.7 3-UR FE
