Hello,

Has anyone had their rear windows tinted on the 200 like the typical

american SUV? If so does it look good or does it have those obvious

after market window tint gaps around the edges?

The 200 has no trunk, no cargo cover and has no tinted glass...

should I just unlock my doors and leave my stuff on the dashboard

so the crackheads don't breakout the windows?

What's up Toyota???

I have both the 2008 Land Cruiser and the 2008 LX 570 brouchures;

the Lexus brouchure has every picture of the 570 with blacked out

windows except the last page where it's towing a Doral sport boat.

The Cruiser brouchure has normally tinted SUV rear glass at the end

of the brouchure with it's profile pitcure in the weights, specs and

features section.

Clearly Toyota is not opposed to tinted glass because all the other

SUV's they sell have rear tinted glass. Normally, the SUV with no

tinted glass is the base strippo models in the USA.

FOR $70,000.00+ I don't want to look like the strippo model????

Where should my wife put her recently aquired treasuses whilist

shopping at the mall? Where shall my briefcase and laptop be

stored out of sight in my $83,000.00 SUV????

Do people that drive $83,000.00 SUV's have nice stuff crackheads

might want to steal???

WHY DOES HOME LINK HAVE THREE (3) BUTTONS???
Isn't one(1) for your front gate????

I really whant to by one of these rigs, but a Mercedes GL 550 is

looking more like a no brainer every day I look more into the 200.

Yes, there is a GL 320CDI DIESEL ALREADY HERE!!!!

Yep,

I think it shows even the photographers and artists that do the

brouchures know Toyota BLEW-IT with these new green tinted

windows. I'm sure they can block the UV & some radiant heat, but

they do NOT provide any privacy or help hide cargo from wondering

eyes. The Cruiser has no cargo cover; what's the owner to do with

valuable items while parked in public areas? Does the $83,000.00

SUV even with a blanket to cover your stuff???

Really, what are the series 200 owner's to do?

Thank you in advance.... Corporate Toyota / Lexus smart guys/gals...

Jeff

What kind of tint is that...can't tell from the reflection in your picture.

My 200 is the same colour, with the factory green tint, and because of the reflection it looks exactly the same as your's. I was wondering if you had something else added on after, or if this is just the factory tint?

wow i didnt realize that they dont come tinted. that sucks. i dont like the reflective tint on my 03 100, cause when u tint the front windows they dont match. but its better then no tint.

Hey Motin,

Would it be possible to post a couple of other pix of you tinted glass?

I test drove a cruiser this weekend for about an hour and really liked

it, very smooth, I don't know how the Lexus will be smoother before

it will feel like its on pillows and all wishy washy.

When I returned the cruiser to the dealership the salesman came

out to see how I liked it, told him great, love it.

When looking over the rear folding seats I asked if there was a

cargo cover available since there is no tinted glass. He was

very honest about it and said "I don't see any place to mount one,

I'll ask our service dept about it."

Still hoping for a solution for storing items from wondering eyes.

thanks,

Slowride

about

just get the windows tinted

I'm pretty sure that all LC200s come tinted...it's not an option. The problem is that it is this green tint that lets in probably 85% of light.

To Motin: If you do have more pics, please post them. Your truck is too shiny, and I don't think the pics give the tint job any justice, or it may be just me.

sorry guys i have posted the wrong picture now its the correct pictures enjoy.

Tint looks good. I think you have convinced me to get mine done.

THANKS FOR THE PIX ... motin

Looks good & stock to me...

Questions for anyone with some aftermarket tint expierence:

Do aftermarket tints last on the rear windows with defroster

elements that are used alot during winter months?

Is there a type of tint plastic material that is the best and worse?

Could you name some brands that are the tops / best to look for?

Thanks,

Slowride

Slowride,
You should check with your local tint company regarding brands and spec's. My personal experience having tinted two Audi Allroad wagons was good no issue's. If your that worried about the crackheads you might consider moving before you drop 70 large for a new cruiser or just install a Drawer System to lock your stuff up if you don't want to move. hehehe....

Lou

Thanks Luke 111,

I'm not to worried about where I live...

It's the areas I work in, and around big city courthouses...

Lots of criminal types... the reason some of them are in jail or getting

bailed out is because they have broken or robbed fancy houses,

SUV's and bashed the brains out their non-suspecting CLUELESS

owner's. I guess your 200 will never leave the vault behind your

gated home... The real world is just on the otherside.

Leave your laptop in your 200 at the mall a couple of times in your

good hood. As far as the $70,000.00 goes, my kitchen floor and

counter tops at my primary domicile cost more than that...

I was quoted $80,000 a couple of times last year...for a 200 sq ft kitchen. Those kitchens can get pricey.
