My Buddy didint do any pm on his Honda civic and when his timming belt gave up he burnt the head on his engine (intake valves touched a piston which made catastrophic dammages)

My question his on a 1996 land cruiser if timming chain breaks will it cause this issue ? I have 194 000 miles on the clock wich kinda makes me scared about the timming chain condition. I use to have a 4 runner and as per fsm it clearly said to replace the timming chain at 190 000 miles 1996 2.7L 4 RUNNER

Anyway just whant a cruiser head advice here

Tanx alot guys

Should the timming chain be replaced though ?

Properly maintained the vehicle and timing chain should last 300k miles or more. Not many on here would say o yea you need to replace that every 150k or anything :)

Well I am at the or more mileage.

I was just wondering about my timing chain with 400,000 mi not to far away, does it need to be changed or looked at?

If your timing is not fluctuating or theres no unusual noises you should be okay. Peace of mind is invaluable though.
