For the first time in my ownership, I installed new DENSO TT platinum spark plugs yesterday (it came with 0.98 mm gap so I installed it without adjusting the gap). While I am there, noticed 4 aftermarket coil packs. Glad I had 3 extra OEM coil packs. Still one missing... Will get that soon. Don't know whether it is the coil packs or spark plugs or both, I noticed a significant improvement in the throttle response. Also, the engine working temperature was reached in very short time (in about 3-4 minutes)

Next coming weekend or two I plan to install OEM brake pads for front and rear even though what's in the truck are quite new but unknown brand. A complete brake flush is also scheduled. Also in the list is OEM fuel filter and rear shocks from Camelbacktoyota.

I'm interested in what the part number of your spark plugs are?

Note: Factory recommends Iridium spark plugs with gap of 1.0 to 1.1mm new. Max 1.3mm used.

I used PK20TT (4504). When I bought it, it had autolight platinum. It did its job (city 10 MPG and 12-13 MPG on highway) so I though denso platinum should be good enough.

Get iridium. NUMEROUS documented issues using anything other than that.

$8 a plug for 120k life is a minimal expense. Your platinum plugs could explain your abysmal mileage.

Treating your cruiser means using OEM or Slee. Anything other than that is a downgrade.

That's debatable. While one of the best service/cutomization companies, there are many amazing aftermarket products for the 100s besides just what slee sells. BIOR, Dissent, Trail Tailor, etc...

If anyone see a "Deal" for Denso or NGK Iridium's spark plugs please post it up. If made by either, vendor isn't a consideration price is.
