I've emailed these guys a few times. I hadn't planned on going, but since I'm missing Moab I figured this might make up for it in some small way. I haven't heard back from them. I'll let you guys know what I plan to do. Maybe if registration is full and I can't bring my Cruiser, someone will have an open seat? ;p

Can someone record the tracks for future re-visit of the area please? Once you're done, post them on our Yahoo site. Thanks and have fun!

I talked with Robbie this AM and he said that he will be at the event with the Central team.

Still waiting to hear if registration is open. I guess I'll have to fire off another email.

As of this afternoon there are still spots. I kinda get the feeling there may be LOTS of spots.

When I registered Neil told me they had 67 of 100 filled. He said the limit of 100 was because of the size of the campground.

I thought I heard a limit of 70 trucks, but a limit of 100 people at the campground, but I could be mistaken...

that sounds right too. I just remember asking if there was room for me, and the guy said not to worry about it. Have you talked to them Mike (Cajun)?

I hadn't heard back yet. I just left Brandon a message on his phone as well as an email to his work address. I hope I find out soon..... I'm anxious to spend all the brownie points I earned last week skipping Moab to help take care of mother-in-law.

I've received the shipment of Toyota Trails (total of 60) to take down to Ruidoso with us.

I still need to talk to the Sales Manager at American Toyota to see if he's interested in having his sales force distribute a copy of Trails with the sale of each Toyota 4X4. I may try to get over there to visit with him on Friday. If he's interested, I may give him 10 copies to get started and we'll take the rest down south when we go.

Hello and Hi to you all:
I need some help with some information. Maybe some one has the knowledge of the trails that Brandon(for this event) has posted up. Like how hard really are these trails and how long may it take to get through them.
In reading through the list of 6 trails, the real easy ones sound like they may take only 1 or hours to site see down a dirt road. While maybe the last two trails may take 2-3 hours because of the obsitcals. Or am I reading the discriptions a little wrong and the harder trails are really 5-6 hours of gut busting fun winching and using tools to get through. Unless of course you have a FJ Cruiser on BFG AT's, the worlds best tire.
Any how a few of you guys remember me and some may not know me at all. The Central FJ Crusier trail team will be at the event (along with me). To lead trails and just be general big help when needed. Also we will be doing a BBQ on saturday night to help feed you all. You will need to bring a beverage of your own choice. We hope to have the rest.
Any how I am looking forward to seeing any one that comes down that I know from the past and hope to meet a few more people to call friends in the future.
See you guys soon. Later robbie

Shoot, sorry I'm going to miss it. Have you always gone by Powderpig? I thought it was something else.

Jon

Hello Jon:
I hope to see the pic's soon after the HDC meeting(what ever fun you were having), I am sorry to have missed you at CM07. Did not know you were around. Before powerpig I was just Robbie on mud. Then one day I got erased by some magic in the data base, so I thought I would just pick a real old handle from my ski days. Any how I hope to be around on this site a little more in the future. Robin and I (kids included) miss the HDC days and the family stuff we did when we were around. Catch you later Robbie

I just submitted my registration... I'm just waiting on a confirmation of some sort from Brandon. Hopefully I will see you guys for a bit on Saturday.

Hello and Hi to you all:
I need some help with some information.

Hi Robbie!
It was good to see you and Robin at CM07!

I heard you had to assist one of our club members back into his own tent and sleeping bag after a few too many shots of tequila. I will pay handsomely for any pictures. If you don't have pictures then I will pay for gory first-hand details.

Connie, Ross, and I will be at this event. Several others have also registered or expressed an interest. It looks like we will have a good showing from the HDC group. Unfortunately, we don't have any experience with the trails down in Ruidoso. One of the major attractions of this event was the opportunity to see a new area with new-to-us trails.

Hey Robbie. We met about a year ago at Gordy's Hill (near Socorro) when you came down with your Trail Team but I'm sure I'm just one of thousands of people you can't remember. The impression I got from Brandon and Neil is that the event was primarily designed to accommodate new FJ Cruiser owners and get them off the pavement to discover the joy of off-roading. I'm guessing that trail #6 was added to give the experienced and heavily modified truck owners a reason to justify showing up and I'll bet the ones listed as moderate probably won't be too much challenge for someone like yourself. I honestly have no knowledge of these trails so I'm making my best guess based on how the trail expectations that were described to me before they were chosen and listed on the rally website.

Hey Robbie -

Glad to hear that you'll be at Ruidoso. When we spoke at CM, you weren't sure at that point what your marching orders would be. As you've already heard, our group really isn't familiar with the trails down there, but I get the impression that they're pretty short. They have marketed basically half-day trails - that is, a morning run and an afternoon run every day. So they should be pretty quick.

Just for background, our group (HDC) will be handing out copies of Toyota Trails and explaining the benefits of joining TLCA. Brandon (who's runnning the event) contacted Shawn and asked for some help in that area.

Looking forward to it!

Evan

Brandon verified my registration this morning, so I will see you guys in Ruidoso. Now I need to go replace some camping gear.... yay... a reason to shop for toys.
