Anyone have/uses JTO rear disc brake kit on thier FJ40??...thinking about investing in a kit...thanks for feedback...

JTO sux. Get brackets from Poser and order the loaded Monte calipers from your local AP store..
JMO;)

but you still need rotors and lines if some sort.....

I'm sorry, shoud have given you a source for the rotors..................Poser.
Lines? I got some fancy-assed stainless braided lines, but you can use any 10mm x 1 fittings/lines. Very common.

Call Poser. Do not call JTO:mad:

x2 on calling Poser.

If you don't get rotors from him make sure you check the thickness before you leave the store.
I'm thinking I got the wrong rotors in box marked with correct part number. Was putting my RDB
together this afternoon and discovered (along with help from cruiserhead) that the rotor was too thick.

I doubt all the posts that contained the Napa part number could be wrong. I researched this job heavily
on here and saw part number numerous times.
Took some other part numbers and got another set of rotors with correct thickness.

I bet them Turpin boys ears must be burning by now.......:hillbilly:

okay...looks like I am sending Poser some money so I can get some brackets and rotors...so the monte carlo calipers and brake pads I can get from Autozone/Autoparts/NAPA right...any other suggestions for conversion brake hoses, backing plates and spacers (if they are even needed), caliper pins, etc.....thanks for your info...I am also wondering what others are using for front brake hose adapter from caliper to hard line...by the way, why does JTO suck so much???..cheers...R

Just s-e-a-r-c-h........really. JTO plays dumb, so do not expect a lot of help if you have problems. What else can I say? If you want quality products and technical know-how, stick with the reputable vendors on Mud. They know what they are talking about and they have a reputation to protect. Do you see JTO on MUD?
Asked and answered;)

JTo doesn't suck... not in my view anyway.. I've installed several front and rear disc conversions kits they sell and have had no problems..... they have always shipped orders out promptly and have friendly service after the sale ..... but I guess there may be exceptions out there..... or could the problem be on the other end?

I'm running the front disc JTO kit and it works fine:) I've had at least a dozen transactions with that company and all has been well ;)

I've ordered a couple of things from JT in the past. My transactions went off without a hitch. Most of the complaints I have seen in the past stem from situations where there is a problem...and JT doesn't take care of it. Once again...these are my observations, not my personal experience. I did have an...interesting...interaction with JT when I went to look at a Cruiser he had for sale years ago...but I don't want to *completely* hijack this thread.

Sorry, will not agree. I bought their rear conversion rotors. Rotors were not machined as advertised. I called, and called, and called. I was nice, mistakes are made. They were nice, but not going to help. Yes, I really did expect them to issue a call tag for their junk and send me the right part.

This was my first, and last, order from JTO. :ban:

Sorry to hear about your "bad rub" with JTO:frown:.... maybe they don't like folks from the 47th state:confused: I dunno.....

I bought the disk kit and rotors from poser. could not have been any better. The only thing I did not buy from him was the conversion hoses and banjos, I bought those from JTO. They sent the wrong thread banjos, and never returned my email about it. It meant a $4 trip to the auto parts store, but it was still a pain. I have bought other stuff from them in the past and been happy.

I HIGHLY recommend his kit. I had them in a matter of days, and the price was much better than anyone else.

I'm sorry I trashed JTO. I have just read too many posts about their s***ty customer service. Why spend your hard earned money on ANY vendor with a dicey reputation? Other than how much s*** they have on eBay, I do not understand the attraction:confused: Is there anything they sell that cannot be purchased from someone, usually on this board, for the same or greater quality and the same or LESS money?
Why take a chance? I don't have to touch the stove to know that it is hot.;)
For those who have had a great experience..............
For those who have been burned..............................:frown:
For those who have not yet dealt with them...........................beware:cool:

Thanks again for all your responses...Degnol, I did do a search and found that some people are not happy with JTO's customer services, which I think is extremely important to get that customer back...anyway I have heard positive things about Poser's brackets and rotors and looks like I will be going that route...Roger

You will not be sorry about dealing with Steve. I am biased, i guess, but he has done a boatload of work on my truck and has been a great parts source as well. He has advised me on whatever I was doing on my truck and there is really no limit to the advice he is willing to give. He responds to every email, PM or phone call. Good man. Period.

man...you are fortunate to have someone so close who is willing to share wisdom and help out manually...R
