Those running OME 850/860 combo, please advise. (2 Viewers)

So ARB advises when using the 850/860 set-up then I should use 60070L front shocks & 60020 rear shocks. I can't recall reading that people were using this shock set-up. For those of you running the OME 850/860 spring combo, is this the shocks you use & do you have any problems w/the shocks being too short OR too stiff? Thanks.

After further research, according to the OME site, the measurements are:
60070L - 11.3" (front)
60020 - 9.7" (rear)

Does this seem like good measurements w/out restricting droop or compressing till they bust? Thanks.

They match the shocks to the springs. I would think they would know there product better than anyone else. If you are really concerned about it then just give them a call and talk to one of there tech people. That should save you the confusion of looking on this board and all of the different web sites.

After a ton of searching it seems everybody, including all the vendors I checked, use 60018 fronts & 60020 rears for the 850/860 combo. I think that's what I'll do as well. Thanks.

You only need around 4" of down travel from "static height". I think the L's will fit just fine. The standard OME length shocks are too short IMO.

I've read before they were too short! Do you know the static height of the 850/860 combo? The 60070 & 60070L are the same length, according to ARB's website. The 60018(what everybody is running w/the 850's) are 10.2" & the 60070L's(what ARB's website suggests) are 11.3.

For the front:
60070L - Compressed: 15" Extended: 26.3" Total working length - 11.3"
60018 - Compressed: 14.1" Extended: 24.3" Total working length - 10.2"

So having these measurements, which comp./extend. length is better for 850 front springs?

Also, the rear:
60020 - Compressed: 14.9" Extended - 24.6" Total working length - 9.7"

So having this measurement, is this the best comp./extend. length for 860 rear springs? Thanks suspension guru's!!!!

Let's put it this way, I run a J with 1" spacer up front and run an L with a 3" extender on the bottom of the shock. In the rear I have 863's, an L and 2" extender on the shock. Go with the L's. That way you'll have room to go higher when that bug bites.

I have the mediums out back and the heavies up front. The OME standard nitro charger shocks are WAY too short. Once I removed my front sway bar then I was bottoming out the shocks constantly. After some research it appears the older nitro chargers are the same length as the stock shocks; which makes no sense putting them on a lifted vehicle. I actually feel the "L" shocks are even a tad too short. Right now I'm still running the standard nitro chargers but with 2.5" spacers. My flex is okay, but as soon as I get enough money put aside I will be upgrading to higher quality shocks that are about 4-5" longer then the standard nitro chargers.

Anyone running OME Sport 60070L in front and 60071L in rear for shocks w/the heavy front springs and medium rears? These shocks are the 'newer' version of the N73L and N74L.

I went with the regular length due to a time constraint. The L's would be just fine with the 850/860 combo.

I run a 27" shock with my 860s & they stay retained. The OME L is 26.9" so that confirms your staitment.

W/an ARB & winch, my front is about 1" lower than the rear that has a non-swingout 4x4Labs bumper, fridge/freezer & no spare. Once my 31M battery is in the front will be even lower so I'll soon be going to 850J front.
