Thanks, it has been a lot of fun. People just love the fj40. I have other cars that I have restored, mostly sports cars. People check them out, but in a stand off way. Not the fj40, they come right up smiling, asking about it, especially young kids. The kids love it.

Installed a retrosound 2 radio. Thanks to @gcrump01 for posting his. I really like it, it has bluetooth, good power and has a nice retro look. I had to add a little backer plate to make it fit solid. Speakers are some old Jenson's that came with the 40 when I bought it. I mounted them with a mount I found online. It isn't quite centered in the picture. Fixed that.

Just found this thread.

Exact same direction I'm going with my build.

Best color/wheel combo for sure.

Awesome build. I grew up in Greenwood and make my way back occasionally to see family. Hope I run into you next time I'm down there.

Thanks. That is pretty cool you grew up in greenwood. I did also. I graduated in 84 and moved away in school until I returned in 95. Technically, I live in Abbeville now. I am sure we have a lot of mutual friends.

I was -2 in 1984.

I graduated in 2005. :D I might reach out to you next year about who you used for your work on your 40 since I am assuming costs down there are a lot less expensive than up here in Charlotte.

Beautiful truck! It's neat to see these things returning to former glory!

:)

Incredible job and kudos to your skills:clap:

This may be the shortest frame off build thread on mud!!! 3 pages and done haha

Love it man turned out great!!!

Thanks! I am a man of few photos. I was trying to make it look easy to bait in some folks that were on the fence about a frame off.

I can say without hesitation, that I could not have done this without the MUD family. The amount of information available on this site is remarkable. Not to mention the number of people willing to take their time to explain something to you that they have explained fifty times already. I cant think of one D*%khead on this this forum. Every other forum has two or three minimum!

For some crazy reason, I still find myself checking craigslist, back roads, sheds, barns looking for another one. No doubt, I would do it again. I would love to have a 45.

Yes couldnt agree more man!!!

One day ill have a 45 again. Sold mine to fund my 42 search it paid off haha

Just came across your build. Great job and great inspiration to one and all. My favorite color too.
