I just started building up my 80 when I stumbled upon one of the meanest trucks ever built. I'm thinking about trading. I've previously owned a 66 Bronco built by the same person and it was a beast. Below are pics of my 80, the truck I'm thinking about trading for and my old Bronco built by the same person. Some specs on the truck: Dual 12K winches, Dodge 440 hooked up to a 727 tranny....40 inch swampers etc etc. 8500 pounds!
If I trade, I will definitely get another 80 later on. Just might not be able to afford both right now.

You think I should trade?

94, New lift, new tires, lockers, New PHH just installed....

OK, I'll bite. Unless your first name is Mad, and your last name is Max, the answer is NO DEAL!!!

WTF would you do with that thing?!? The bambi basher built out of welded pipe is supercheesy...

Depends what your goals are, but the 80 is going to be more reliable than a custom vehicle any day. The Dodge doesn't do it for me... just my 2cents.

Here's the proper attire when wheeling.
If it's solely for just wheeling, that is one mean machine.
I would keep the 80 and mod it up to your liking.
But if you like to attract a crowd, trade it.

It looks like you have more ground clearance with your TLC. I wouldn't turn down a weekend with that brute, but I wouldn't want it in my driveway either.

why's this guy wanna trade anyways????

whats leaking underneath the truck?

don't you mean if your names Rambo?

:D Some of the responses are cracking me up. Seriously though this truck was built by Soni Honneger, one of the most innovative 4 wheel builders of all time. True, it's a little aged and a little Mad Maxish but still a very capable vehicle. It originally had a 426 Hemi motor, one of the previous owners begain a cummins conversion but I don't think it was ever completed. It was on the cover of 4 wheeler a couple times back in the 90's. wow that thing is massive. Dont do it. That is a very nice 80, if it were me I would keep it. If you think fuel is costing you an arm and a leg now just think what it would cost to drive "big foot".

The second truck is nice but I would pass up on the first one. With all that weight and horsepower you will still be breaking things. Nice play toy but with the way things are now a play toy isn't too appealing unless your rich and like being single? (An old Bronco like that is in the same price range as LC's IF you can find one in decent shape)

Your truck has lockers, reliable drivetrain, A/C, heater, seats 4+, a sunroof, gets better mileage, a more appealing dash to look at, comfortable seats, comfortable suspension, uses 87 octane fuel, and probly goes everywhere that swamp thing can... The old single cab Dodges SUCK, I am 6'2" and the seating position is made for a 4'10" person! Looks like a downgrade! Unless you want to trade and sell the steel to China, could probly make a good profit? Trying to sell a rig lke that has to be HARD, in times like this I would trade it off for something easier to sell and more comfortable to drive too! (something you can actually take on trips, take to work, fit in parking garages, room for family/friends, room for groceries and items to keep out of the weather.... An older rig built like that has to be needing a few things by now, $$$$.

Trade? Sure. Your wife will be so proud you'll probably have nothin' but sweet lovin' for 6 months.

The neighbors might write you off as a doofus though.

Are you actually serious? :hillbilly::hillbilly::hillbilly:

all I could think of was "welcome to the thunderdome!!"

PFHFFIIIIT!!!! LMAO....I jUsT sPIt mY DrINk aLl oVEr tHe KeYbOaRd.....

Not a very practical DD....But a cool wheelin vehicle...

Alright, seriously, I'm not gonna trade but I am thinking about buying it for an extra toy. I have an acre in the back and can hide it behind some trees and out of view from the neighbors.
I have 3 other cars for daily drivers. I have some land out in the boondocks that this rig would be perfect for bringing stuff out there to build a cabin. Keep the smart ass comments coming. :flipoff2:

I dunno...:meh:

If the democrats get into office this November and the our Beautiful Country does go to hell after the multiple terrorist attacks resulting in the economy crashing, that truck may become exactly what you need to survive.

Seriously, you have a reason for asking if you should do it, which means - for whatever the reason is - you want it. You can get another 80. So do it. Scratch the itch. Then when you trade it for another 80 in 6 months, you will have good stories and probably a few good pics.

If you're looking for a truck to wheel and wheel hard... i'd say do it. That thing is bad ass
