i wanted the fj cruiser before i bought the fj60 but didnt want the payment. well i have had my fj60 for two months now. its nice, i love it. but i am thinking about selling and getting a nice used fj cruiser. my 60 is lifted with baja claws and my dd. and plan on doing that to the fj cruiser. anybody thinki ill regret the decision?

i thought here i might have a better chance here finding somone with both. that could compare the offroad charecteristics.

new technology is nice, but i didn't fit in the FJC. Some idiot thought a 2" tube in the molded dash would "look" cool like a roll cage. except that's where my KNEE needs to go... (6'8" doesn't help).

So what do you want to do with it? I like the room inside the 60 and the classic look.

I agree - asking here you really aren't asking for an unbiased response. ask in the FJC section and you should get the opposite response...

I'd keep it either way. If it's a clean 60 you'll regret it later!

OK - looks like you got around the the real question - offroad performance.

How do you use your 60 currently? the FJC should lift cheaper like an 80 (coils) and ride better than a 60.

where are you at - what kind of wheeling? (put location in your sig or profile may help in the future).

Either way - GL! Neither will suck unless you are too tall...

Hmmmm, steel for plastic. Hmmmm. Sit in one and look over your left shoulder. Can't see anything, but don't worry that's what the side airbags are for. Salesman said that.

I'll take your old-tech uncomfortable 60 off your hands for $1000.

:D

But ya know, most 60-series folks say the same thing about 40 series trucks ... (ahhh... the A/C !!) ...

Will you regret it ? Prolly not, depending on your driving habits.

How about this perspective. I have a 200 series and a 60 series.

I LOVE my 200 series.

But I have found a love for my 60 series also (only 3 weeks in hands)

I was able to take out the seats, center console, seat belts, and rear seat in about an hour yesterday. In my 200 series???? YEAH RIGHT! I could not find all the BOLTS to get to in an hour.

I love how SIMPLE the inside is. Makes things so simple to deal with.....

But right now, on a long journey....I still will take my 200, but the 60 is a real joy and I can see it becoming a competition to my 200 series one day!

Sell the 60 and get the FJ Cruiser. Someone who really appreciates a 60 wouldn't ask that question, so let it go to someone who will love it.

HARSH but truthful...

I bought a 60 a couple months back and like it. I am selling my FJC currently. If you do not plan to wheel it hard the FJC is a good rig. I unfortunately wheeled mine harder than it can take and paid for it in body damage.

Even if you don't wheel it hard, they're still purpose built for different uses.

Both will get you off road.
Both can be modded to fit your purposes.

The real difference (other than driver/passenger height) as I see it, is over all room and the reason you want it in the first place.

I've seen some nice, and certainly capable FJ's.
The 60/62 simply has more storage and passenger room inside and for me, that's a big deal.
The wheeling part could go either way.

The only thing I didn't care for in the FJ, was the huge blind spots. That was a huge deal breaker for me from jump.

Either way, it's still a 'Yota and will still probably give you years of dependability!

I drove my 89 PU after driving my FJ60 exclusively for 2 weeks. I felt like I was driving a race car....I was sitting so low and it seemed so fast. Haha.

I don't care for the FJ Cruiser, so I'd keep the 60!

I've got a loaded FJ d/d and am currently in the process of buying a 60 if that tells you anything. They aren't the same. You will do what I did: buy an FJ with big ideas, see how sweet it is off the shelf, and fret about doing the wrong mods and never change anything. If you want to wheel, juice up your old girl and save some coin. If you want a d/d, buy something with better mpg.

Drove a FJC for 2 weeks. Can't see stop lights without ducking down. Much Like driving a submarine. On my third 60 and wouldn't trade it for 5 FJC's. If you want a DD that you can drive on gravel get an outback I love mine but again it's my dd not my wheeling rig.

Your statement is disappointing on some level of reasonable expectation. Buy your new car smelling FJC and be like all the others you see out there with car payments, high insurance rates, bad visibility, and high tech mechanisims you can't fix with out a factory service technicians diagnostic computer....
