JP,

I feel the burden of debt as well. Hell I can't even put gas in my ride. As soon as I start making some money, the first thing I'm going to do is..........buy a 40!!!! What ever you do bro, don't sell. I love my 62, and sure, I've got plenty of goals/dreams for it as well, but right now I have squat for money. Just hold what you got( sell some parts if you need to) and you'll be alot happier on down the road.

We all want great things, some of us can afford it now, some of us later. But in the end we all got those great things.

you are right man, I would def. regret it............ I am going to give it some time and think it over, hopefully can make it work out by selling off parts.

Thanks for the words of wisdom

......... chuck this wouldn't have been an issue if you hadn't had to go and get engaged :flipoff2:........... mary ellyn was already chomping at the bit

I think we all know the reasoning now...

What are all these parts you have amassed that you need to get rid of? I may be interested in some of them if I can use em.

Alex, I believe this might give me first priority on that windsheild of yours! :grinpimp:

I can understand not wanting to sell yours.

BTW, the cruiser my husband and I bought was also rolled. The windshield was trashed and some minor damage to the passanger side fender and hood. We were able to find the replacement parts cheap due to other members on Ih8mud. My husband and I are newly-weds, so trust me I know what you mean about money being tight and having bills rolling in. From the sounds of it your cruiser is no where near the "Parting Out" stage.

Good luck and let us know if we can help. We are working on getting our cruiser back on the road after the roll, and we come down to SC from time to time. Maybe we can help eachother out.

from the sounds of it you just need a new tub if your frame is solid/straight and the powertain is strong. I'd say put it away for a while, drive the 62 and then when you get some extra cash look around for a new tub and swap it out. At the same time though if you need the cash now for other more "vital" needs, then there's no question: sell it, it's just a cruiser. And sometimes its nice to have a clean slate.

Thanks for all the support and flaming guys

you should come check out one of our Upstate Cruiser meets/events... we make several trips to NC every year and have quite a few members up there! I am glad to hear you guys are bringing back a cruiser from the dead :D; 40's in roll overs seem to be all to common around here lately

If you are ever down in the North Augusta area let me know

I have a used windshield glass for you (off my 40). I know this will not change your mind. Heck, you trail that 62 as hard as the 40 anyway.

Clean the slate.

yeah thanks for the windshield alex!!! I might still need it, haven't decided on the 40 yet.......

Does your 40 have a (non-stock) rollbar/cage? If you're parting, and it's in decent shape and at the right price, I may be interested. What about front disks and PS? Let me know.

ClemsonCruiser- PM'ed You

JP,

If you do decide to part it out I would be interested in a hard top, roll cage and 1/2 doors if you have any of those and even some clean fenders if they weren't messed up in the roll over. I've been going back and forth on whether to sell my 40 but I just can't part with it.

I would think with an engine/tranny in that good of shape it would be worth keeping but I don't know how much damage it has. But at least there are boat loads of cruisers everywhere so if you do decide to sell you can pick one up at a later point in time when your situation is better.

JP....Dude that aint just a cruiser...that is a piece of you...Take your time JP things will happen for you, don't rush it and it'll work out.

Lolita Going Up For Sale

It's kind of a sad time for me also. I'm going to put Lolita up for sale at the GSMTR.
I'll probably be somewhere near the trailhead. With a FOR SALE sign in the rear window.
She's a 1970 with the original engine (rebuilt with around 20K on it) P/S , rebuilt front disk axle from late model 40, rear disk brakes, electronic ignition, custom cage, 4" lift, with 38"s. The body is getting a little rough, after putting her on the side at last years GSMTR, but she's tough as ever. Also lot's of extra parts.
I just don't have the time that I used to since I bought a house. Also can't justify keeping her and only using her once a year for the GSMTR. (this will be my 11th yr.) I'll be keeping Col. Mustard , but Lolita's gotta go. If anyone is interested see me at the GSMTR or e-mail me at toycrusier@direcway.com. Thanks
