Im having trouble with my new install of 4" HFS lift. Drivers side shock does not clear the steering arm, and puts pressure/rubs on the shock absorber tube when turning the wheels left. Seems like the supplied shocks have too large of diameter. Anyone having the same here? Photos later....

i had a similar problem, they weren't touching but were really close. i remember reading about others who bent the shock housing in slightly with a mallet.

You have 3 basic options.

1. Bend something to make everything fit (drag link -but not recommende- or shock body)
2. Get smaller diameter shocks - Bilsteins work great and they have a smaller diameter body
3. Install power steering so your drag link doesn't run next to the shock.

If you do a search on here, you will find many people that have had your same problem.

I ordered the HFS but read through a search about this problem. I also read where the HFS shocks were not even close to par so I will be ordering Bilstein once I get my lift installed.

X2 on what Freak said.
You should also check to make sure everything is mounted correctly; that the axle hasn't shifted to one side or the other.

Another option would be to remove the lower shock mount and re-weld it closer to the outside of the axle. There isn't much room to do this, but it doesn't take much to give you the needed room.

And FYI, Bilsteins run about 75 bucks a shock. That's what I did.

moving the lower shock mount is probably easest fix, but one other option is installing ford shock towers. Do a search here to learn the details. This option would require longer shocks, and would provide plenty of clearance with the linkage. Lets face it sooner or later you are going to want more travel without your shocks limiting you and this is a great mod
