Wondering how long the black dash will hold up. I am definitely not doging this product what so ever and I haven't read the website.I’m thinking black as I have black seats, center console and headliner.

Man the black sure is temptingI’m thinking black as I have black seats, center console and headliner.
I’d have to imagine the vinyl layer is uv stable. Can always hit it with a UV clear coat just in case too. I was thinking of hitting mine with a satin UV clear coat when I got mine to make triple sureWondering how long the black dash will hold up. ok first off. SR20 corolla just sounds freaking rowdy. Heck yes.
Haven't spent much time on this forum, but as of current the SR20 is long gone and it's now being powered by a 1uzfe w/ CD009 6 speed manual. Ford 9" rear end. Lots of fun.
3.) Will the grey be IDENTICAL when compared to the factory dash?
No, because color is funny..... Your shade of grey is different than my shade of grey because our vehicles have sat outside for different amounts of time and received different amounts of sun exposure. Even production runs of vinyl at Toyota varied from run to run. Every manufacturer has a tolerance to work within for color. The owner of TRF's background is in Consumer Product Goods. Color has a range in manufacturing processes. If you line up 10 grey dashes from 1981-1990 and compared an area on each one that hadn't seen sun, they still would not all match. They will be very close, but not 100%. We will use the underside of the 1986 grey dash we have, where it hasn't been exposed to sun as the sample, so unless your dash has not seen any sun or UV exposure, the dash color will be ever so slightly different.
Yes, I know what you mean. My acceptance level would be having someone who knows Land Cruiser's (or me) sit in the front seat and not notice that the colour is any different than original while driving. A friend of mine had bought a grey dash cap for his 4runner recently and it's noticeably lighter grey in tone. That would bother me.
No, fairly easy actually to remove the dashes from these trucks. Getting the heater core out however, not as easy. Lol.a full dash replacement requires windscreen removal right?
Dang, that is a sweet offer. I just returned from a trip to Austin to supposedly pick up my Betty Blue but everything went south. Not even sure where my truck is.If not, I come to Germany every quarter for work and could bring it with me. I work just outside Nürnberg.
Oh yikes, when you say you don’t know where your truck is, does that mean it’s in the shipping process?Dang, that is a sweet offer. I just returned from a trip to Austin to supposedly pick up my Betty Blue but everything went south. Not even sure where my truck is.![]()
No, meaning I travelled to Austin to drive it to Houston for export 2 weeks after it was supposed to be ready and it wasn't. I never even got to see it before I had to travel back to Munich after taking 6 days vacation to test drive it and get it to Houston.Oh yikes, when you say you don’t know where your truck is, does that mean it’s in the shipping process?
@dbbowen I placed my order a few weeks back for a brown dash. I see @TRFarmers is going to be doing these with speaker holes yet judging by the pole most are against this. Any thoughts if this will be a customer selection once these start to ship?

Ugh, I’m sorry. Back to the dash pad, offer still stand if you need a courier for that or anything else truck related. I’ll be back in Nürnberg in early November. Got it, sounds good. Thanks for the information. Looking forward to seeing these!Looks like WITH the holes is the only option they are doing. I believe they are really trying to hit that oem replacement category with the dashes
That makes sense guys that don't want the holes can deal with that guys that want them to look like factory oem and restoration people/ companies will want them to look correct.Looks like WITH the holes is the only option they are doing.
