I'm Not affiliated with @TRFarmers anything, but I have been talking to him to see if there was any way we could set up a group buy or pre order for the upcoming Dash pads they are producing. After we talked, he set up a link on their site to handle payment and orders so I wouldnt have to do it, like ive had to with the last group buys ive done. The whole purpose of this is to save some money on a dash cap and to get the project along faster so we can have new dashes in our trucks. The pre order price is $599, and the regular price will be 700-800, barring anything that could make the price go up like economic stuff or tooling costs.
The Pre order deadline is end of August. Then this pre buy will close
The lead time is kind of long, but with the group buy it will pump funding into this and get the project moving much quicker, almost like crowdfunding the project.
Details:
These are basically 1:1 reproductions of the factory dashes. Stamped steel with Urethane membrane and vinyl wrap. Should be pretty much indistinguishable from the oem dash. This is not a cover or anything, youll literally have to remove your dash and reinstall this one.
The colors offered are Black, Brown, and Grey. The dash will have the speaker holes and side defrost vents as well.
The estimated lead time is pretty long. 6-12 months. The Formal Lead time will be available mid August 2024. This group buy is basically help fund the tooling to make the parts. Its kind of a long wait but this thread will serve as an update post to post images of the project and updates to production as they are made to update everyone of the progress.
@TRFarmers is a supporting vendor here on mud and has been making great stuff and im pretty excited to get a new dash that i though i was either going to have to A. Send to just dashes and pay 2x the cost of this dash, or just live with a crappy dash. This post might be kinda self serving but im just trying to get a new dash sooner

There are a few questions posted on a reply that i thought might be helpful to add to this main post:
1.) Will texture be IDENTICAL when compared with the factory dash?
-The texture will be extremely close, probably 99% of the way there. Identical would cost $3000 per dash. They have been selling quite a few of the mini truck dashes listed in the original post with zero complaints.
2.) Will the speaker perforations just above the glove box be IDENTICAL when compared to the factory dash?
-Same answer as before. They could be off by 1 mm either way, but once installed will be completely indistinguishable, especially since in USDM cruisers, there is nothing beneath the speaker grills.
3.) Will the grey be IDENTICAL when compared to the factory dash?
No, because color is funny..... Your shade of grey is different than my shade of grey because our vehicles have sat outside for different amounts of time and received different amounts of sun exposure. Even production runs of vinyl at Toyota varied from run to run. Every manufacturer has a tolerance to work within for color. The owner of TRF's background is in Consumer Product Goods. Color has a range in manufacturing processes. If you line up 10 grey dashes from 1981-1990 and compared an area on each one that hadn't seen sun, they still would not all match. They will be very close, but not 100%. We will use the underside of the 1986 grey dash we have, where it hasn't been exposed to sun as the sample, so unless your dash has not seen any sun or UV exposure, the dash color will be ever so slightly different.
4.) Overall, will this dash be an identical replacement once installed when compared to the factory dash?
It will be as a close a replacement as that $2000 dash from that shop in California for 66% less and no headache of being without a dash for 6 months.
I strongly encourage you to look at the rust farmers website at other reproduction projects to compare to oem products to see the level of detail and do a comparison such as the washer tank, dash bezel, fender vents, and D pillar vents.
