ok first off. SR20 corolla just sounds freaking rowdy. Heck yes.
Haven't spent much time on this forum, but as of current the SR20 is long gone and it's now being powered by a 1uzfe w/ CD009 6 speed manual. Ford 9" rear end. Lots of fun.
3.) Will the grey be IDENTICAL when compared to the factory dash?
No, because color is funny..... Your shade of grey is different than my shade of grey because our vehicles have sat outside for different amounts of time and received different amounts of sun exposure. Even production runs of vinyl at Toyota varied from run to run. Every manufacturer has a tolerance to work within for color. The owner of TRF's background is in Consumer Product Goods. Color has a range in manufacturing processes. If you line up 10 grey dashes from 1981-1990 and compared an area on each one that hadn't seen sun, they still would not all match. They will be very close, but not 100%. We will use the underside of the 1986 grey dash we have, where it hasn't been exposed to sun as the sample, so unless your dash has not seen any sun or UV exposure, the dash color will be ever so slightly different.
Yes, I know what you mean. My acceptance level would be having someone who knows Land Cruiser's (or me) sit in the front seat and not notice that the colour is any different than original while driving. A friend of mine had bought a grey dash cap for his 4runner recently and it's noticeably lighter grey in tone. That would bother me.
