Sammy, still waiting on the tubing but I should have a stick by next Sat. I will let you know when I have it in hand.

Sounds good. I should have an idea of when she'll be done by next week.

If you mean that Al's doing the same thing, I'm totally aware, but the 60 I saw was white and in california.

Yeah, I was referring to Al's build.... guess the Florida, American mussel part got me confused.

Keep up the good work.

Photo and update

I paid a visit to the truck while she's being taken care of by Bob at BENGELS Offroad in SD. The work on the truck is AWESOME. I'll let the pic speak for itself. One is all you get for now. Anyone contemplating any work on their rig needs to pay a visit to Bengels.

ah, it's finally starting to look like a convertible.... neat!

the window frame of the doors looks a bit out of place for a sport coupe, IMO :)

how you gonna hold the windshield in?

Truck is looking great...and you're getting uglier as you age Sam! :flipoff2:

here's the panel material I was talking about.

(crappy lighting inside) but I have clear .090" thick Lexan too, if you wanna show off those sweet welds. It'd be rock resistant and sticks wont go thru it. But when you scrub it against a tree it'll scratch.

you could attach it with rivets, and then seal the edges with silicone and make it water proof.

OR!
you get a dozen of those clamps for flashlights, and we just clamp it straight to the tubes. That would be sweet!

(i'm gunna need more pics to see what size material you need!:flipoff2:)

I think you are the only one that calls them Bengels Off-road. Everyone else probably calls them Bengels Street Rod from the looks of it... :flipoff2:

No, i call it "Uncle Bobs Magic Shop"

Also, Sammy my friend, it looks as if you will need a phone book OR TWO to see over the hood! :flipoff2:

Whoooooo, nasty. I am looking forward to Thursday. ;)

Is it Thursday yet???

dropped off one lexan and one "cargolite" panel and some aluminum flush 1/8" rivets at Ian's place on my lunch break.

Use some tin snips to trim up the corners if you want, you should have 2" all the way around the opening. Match drill a few holes, and before you pull the rivets, add a bead of adhesive epoxy/silicone and you're ready.

Both panels have a protective film on them that you will have to toss.

I'd use the lexan so you can see a spotter. But the other panel is cool too.

Ian, sweet 40! why the sterring wheel in your winch?
