'can of worms' and 'poof' were already on the old MUD since a few years
 
I am adapting to the new Mud and support Woody since he feels this is the best. I know it is early and understand that there are still changes and mods to come(?)
Some aspects I truly like better but miss some of the previous features: Garages, Albums, and the ability to quickly see who's online (the old green light) to name a few. Being a forum about trucks I liked the ability to see other Mudders rides and interests in the pictures they elected to post up on their home page. It added a layer of depth behind the avatar itself...

I did a search several days ago and didn't find anything on the potential to see them return. Has anyone heard?

What are other CSC'rs thoughts?

people who are online are listed to the right of the forum directory - before you click into the 40 or 80 forum

also, you can now see again what individual members are viewing [that feature had gone away several years ago on the old MUD]

I agree with Rob: it is what it is :meh: eventually, complainers will make sure that the new site is pretty much the same as the old site

that said, the pics definitely NEED to be fixed :mad:
 
I can only imagine all the whining Woody has to listen to from the thousands of Mudders.

Assimilation is imminent :slap:
 
Ditto on missing the garage - gone for good? That's where I'd been keeping all maintenance details and threads of particular interest.

Also in a "conversation" with LCP and couldn't at all figure out how to reply therein so simply started a new one.

I'm in enterprise software and know all too well what managing software change is all about. No gripes from me here....this is a cake walk compared to what I deal with.

I provider and Xp hate it. Another example of the downtrodden middle class getting stepped on.

Woody must be pulling his hair out, hear there are contractors who screwed things up and it will be fixed. Still, I didn't think it was broke.
 
There was some discussion in chat about all the bowing to advertisers and what about the feelings of the paying members. We were told the advertisers rule and as far as the forum is concerned, our $20/yr contribution doesn't matter. That was straight from Mace and woody. I, for one, will not bother to contribute anymore. Pretty sad after 9 years of enjoying this forum, to find out the contributors don't matter. Like anything else in this country, it's all about the dollar. :meh:

What do we get for our worthless $20/yr contribution with the new format? Hell someone should give me $20 to relearn new format
