I've accumulated enough guns over the past few years that individual locked boxes in the closet was becoming difficult to manage. Found a small used safe and am hoping to outgrow it soon. I don't have ANY space in the house so it's relegated to the garage for now. Was really worried about it but after a lot of research, I think I have a good plan... I have a golden rod going and some desiccant but Amazon's delivering a dehumidifier later this week. Wiped everything down and have been monitoring it closely; looks like everything's good. I have a Bluetooth humidity gauge on order as well so that will definitely be some peace of mind once in place.

When I was first stationed at Bragg, I got my first safe and had to keep it in the garage. Nothing more than a dehumidifier and keeping everything wiped down as normal. The safe was in there for 5 years and I never had any rust issues. I do like the razor blade idea though....smart.

Went to Barrow's Firearms in Butler, GA today. The place was standing room only on a Wednesday. This place is two hours from anywhere and was packed. I guess the recent rioting activity is increasing gun sales. Some customers looked liked first time buyers. Found a NAA Ranger 2.5 in 22 mag after searching for a couple of years. No Ruger PC Carbines or Chargers available though.

Every gun store around me has a line out the door and yes, many first-timers. 9mm ammo is nowhere to be found.
2020 is the year everybody gets on the gun boat. Glad I stocked up in the obama years. My local gun store had his pic behind the register with "Salesman of the Year" underneath.

Firepower in Matthews was pretty dead today, except for the packed range. Might be because the only brand new long guns were a small handful of pink or red 22s. Said they haven’t had a new shotgun in over a month. Used wall was mostly empty except for some ancient single shot break open 12g’s. Lots of handguns tho. Told me the current purchase permit turnaround in Mecklenburg county is 8 weeks. I still have a few weeks to go to hit that number.

They have a small supply of ammo that they’re rationing. The bigger calibers are all only hollow points. No limits on 10mm, in case you’re looking!

Perhaps I am weird, but I actually enjoy the hunt when I am seeking a particular firearm. Pretty much all of the firearms I have purchased over the years have been online because it seems I can never find what I am looking for locally. Now is no exception, as I have been searching daily for a particular AR for the past 8 weeks. Eventually, I will find it and it will be mine. For me, going down rabbit holes is a part of the process. When it comes to ammo I never stop buying so I don't worry when SHTF and all the shelves are bare. When the riots first started my wife starting getting on my case about buying more ammo. Bless her heart, if she only knew.....

That's what I've seen as well...
I've been looking at the Glock 45 (9mm) but was curious about doing a Glock 23 with the 9mm conversion barrel so I could shoot .40 or 9mm. I have a few other 9mm guns and a .45 but not a .40 - I don't have hordes of ammo but I could hold the fort down for a little while; just wanted to protect against ammo runs by maybe diversifying the portfolio??

Update on the safe... I got my humidity gauge in yesterday and am really impressed with the Bluetooth range, I can check it from inside the house. I'm right around ~59% inside which seems to be 5-6% lower than the garage. My dehumidifier delivers this afternoon so I'm hoping to get down to mid-50's. If not, I'll try adding some more desiccant

Anyone got a mid to lower priced pump action 12 gauge they don't need anymore. Wife's been listening to Biden... ;) Kidding of course.

Right there with you Del. I've never sold a gun.
Don't much expect any rioting going on out here in the country, more cows and horses than people. That and it is pretty well know that most folks out here are armed to the teeth. Rare is the weekend that you do not hear gun fire. Many evenings too.

Well. I can say I’ve come to this thread many times with folks offering to sell stuff. Figured it didn’t hurt to ask.

Yep. I wasn’t gonna call you out specifically :)...

I only ever sold two...... a 38 snubnose long ago, and a 458 socom AR that I could not afford to feed (at 2 bucks a round)...
I just might have enough ammo for the boogaloo if needed

Sold a MAK90 back in the early '90s... think I paid $250 for it and sold it for that. I checked some of the gun auction sites recently and they are >$1,000.

The hunt for a gun is part of the challenge. These days I buy online and deal with the transfer at my local shop. Currently building my first AR and it almost as fun as modifying the cruiser.

After years of 'intentions' to get my CCP, I'm a few weeks out from it actually being a reality. In anticipation, I've ordered a few holsters and have been wearing them around the house (empty) to break them in / get used to them. I'm a shorts/t-shirt guy 365 days a year and I'm not having a lot of luck getting comfortable yet although its only been a few days. I don't have a proper gun belt so that's my next step but curious if there are any other tips/tricks to try...

My intention was to carry IWB appendix. I work from home so I won't be carrying on a daily basis so I think that will affect it becoming 2nd nature.

I'm really leaning towards trying a OWB; would be easy for cooler temps but I'm almost certain of printing with my current summer wardrobe. Would be open to trading if there are other P365 carriers in the RDU area. PS: I've got some 30-30 I don't have a need for any more, anyone have a use for it?

The one thing I've learned is leather holsters give extra unnecessary bulk. I never got comfortable with the leather holsters I spent money on. Also when you get hot it doesn't help.
I've actually been using a cheap neoprene Uncle Mikes holster that I forget I have on me at times.. pretty sure its actually for an air soft gun... but it was dirt cheap and worth a try and was pleasantly surprised. 3yrs with the holster, I've tried others and keep coming back to it.
Did order holsters from Bravo concealment when they had a BOGO sale going. Still waiting on that to get in..

I carry more towards the hip
