Just so we don't let the fun die before the game, figured I'd post a few good snippets from Coach Bowden's press conference today:

- Coach Grobe is a Christian man, and most of you know that I profess Christianity. Having said that, Coach Grobe has taken me closer to Hell than I ever wanted to go (laughter).


- Respect and focus: Won't be a problem this time. Them being 5-0 gets your attention.


- Overconfidence isn't an issue if you've lost 2 out of 3 to them. Even the games we've won we've been fortunate to win.


- They lead the ACC in sacks and lead the ACC in scoring defense. No. 1 in ACC in redzone scoring, and No. 1 in ACC in redzone defense. They're doing a lot of things right.

Solid, respectful comments from Coach Bowden, just as you'd expect.

My prediction for the UGA Tenn game:

UGA wins... but can't beat the 2-1/2 pt spread. We decide that playing offense is highly over-rated since we can't run the ball, and can't catch it. We punt on first down all day and let the defense play the entire game... and win 2-0 on a safety.

UF loses to LSU. They'll finally run into a team that they can't spot a couple touchdowns to. Final LSU 17 - 14

Auburn beats the crap out of Arkansas. Auburn has a statement to make to stay in the BCS hunt after two sub-par games. Auburn 34-17

Clemson - Wake? Wake wins 76 - 69... ooops, my mistake. That's the basketball score. Keep forgeting that Wake plays football too. Football score: Clemson wins 76 - 69

I dont need an excuse we arent going to lose. We have good depth at wide reciever we can just plug in grisham, harris, taylor, ford, etc.

As for sec football who cares your all OVERRATED auburn looked bad against lowly usc perpetual sec bottomfeeder. GA barely beat colorado who is winless and are espns most overrated team. Floridas offense is feeble wait til they play a team with a good defense. UT might be the only one not overrated.

Well Becca will be pulling for the Dawgs since that is where she graduated. They have played pretty good this year.

I haven't forgotten about the PS for you. I've been putting some ideas together.

At least when we talk "overrated" SEC football, we can talk about four teams in the top 10. ACC in top 10? That would be zero... I'm pulling for Clemson until if/when UGA plays them in a bowl. Could happen.

UT is over-rated... lost to that feeble Fla offense at home right? As much as it pains me to say it, FLA and Auburn and maybe LSU are the teams that look to be strongest right now. UGA has to fix the offense, and I don't think that will happen this year with a bunch of freshman QB's and an old guy that tries hard.

No worries on the PS... Like I said, I will work with whatever schedule works for you. We can talk about it at Cullowhee if not before. I have been working through other little "40" issues in the meantime. learning all the way!

I willing to bet a 6 pack of PBR that all those teams Auburn, UGA, Florida, and UT rank higher than Clemson at the end of the season.

I don't get it. The 5 teams in the SEC that are ranked the lowest is still better than the highest of the 5 in the ACC.

Ha, LOL. See, that's the popular sentiment and what I expected here.

Good stuff. I'm just happy that as the 2nd smallest Div 1 school in the county (3900 undergrads) combined with rigorous academic admission requirements, we can be competitive.

Many other schools with WAY more alumni, students, facilities, resources and support can't say the same thing...
