I see that you have a tach. I’ve seen photos where some 76 & 79 Series do not which strikes me as strange.

you can order one with a tach, which comes with oil pressure gauge and the other instruments. Most of the ones sold in Australia and SA have the tachometer stock. But the ones for the NGOs in the 78s do not. I have a 79 diesel which I ordered with the tachometer and the diff locks with remote keyless entry.

The ones made for the U.N. and the NGOs have nothing in them except the speedometer, water and fuel. everything else manual.

Some pics on Lytle Creek Trail and good food using a TemboTusk Skottle Grill.

Some pics of the Rear set up. I chose to put a ladder on the side to access my QuickPitch tent that I will be getting from HST.Global website.

Though the tent comes with a telescopic ladder, saves me the effort of storing the ladder.

I will be cutting 2 square holes to add rear work lights. I also added a Receiver hitch, wanted it integrated so not to scrape during departure angle.

Still needs some cutting specially under the light area. Work in progress...

Hi RustyDusty,

I just love the white GRJ76L. It's a dream come true.
Congratulations on being one of the very few to drive this beauty around the US.
This is from somebody who is riding almost the same horse for some time now.
We in Europe are already struggling in many countries: Only the 1GR-FE with additional catalytic converters can be registered as new. Some countries like Switzerland only the GRJ79L and only for a commercial company as a work truck, not as a passenger car for private use. Very few loopholes left indeed. And Diesel (HZJ/VDJ) have no chance as new registrations. Only used.

I see there is minor differences with your vehicle:
Your's came with floor mats. Do you mind to ask your supplier if they can source them floormats? Our's came without floor mats and I don't find any original / OEM for the J7xL. Strange thing is that there seems to be no part number for the floor mats. Nobody knows, even our suppliers here have no record. They say some come with and some without, that's it.
Also you have a washing fluid refill inlet in the trunk area, our's doesn't. Does that mean you can spray the back windows for washing? Does it have wipers on the back side?
Do you have the Auxiliary Power Supply Box in the engine compartment? It's this little Box in the image. Might be on the other side with your vehicle, depends on the Type (A or B).
It's got the tank on the back. Our's doesn't.
And the "LX" badge is on the right back door bottom right corner. Our badge is on the left door below the window.

Do you mind sharing your model code? My guess is it's this: GRJ76L-RKMRK and not this: GRJ76L-RKMNKV

Good day Seven6

Thank you for the compliment.

I have heard in Europe specially in Germany the 1HZ or other Diesel variants of the cruiser are no longer imported, only Petrol. Plenty of Overlanders who are looking for an LC to convert to Overlanding truck are now stuck with the Petrol. But anyone who has the 1HZ or other diesel LC are ok.

I do have contacts if you want to help with the import, I can help if you like.

Mine did come with Floormats, I can ping my contacts to see if I can provision a set for you. Is Beige (camel) the color of choice?

I do have a rear window washing container in the back passenger side. It does have the wiper on the passenger side only. Please see pic below.

I do not have the Aux power supply box, but I do have the tire pressure monitor box in the rear driver side between the C and D pillar.

I do have the OEM Jerry can tank for the rear.

LX is on the bottom right.

model code is GRJ76L-RKMNKV

If you could ask for the floor mats, that would be great. I am in Europe, so the may have to be sent there. yes sir, camel-beige

If you'd ever need to get some additional power supply going from the engine compartment that aux power supply box is a great OEM-like way to go. Basically a simple fuse box with 4 terminals. one ground and the other three for: power-when-engine-on, power-when-on-ACC, power-always-on.
I ordered it from Japan, came today. Plug&Play, easy as pie.
Partsouq has it listed as:
8260060090BLOCK ASSY, FUSE82600GRJ7#,HZJ7# ACCESSORY CONNECTOR-WITH(ENGINE ROOM)
Megazip can deliver too, bit cheaper.
May need the bracket and some fuses aswell.

Your model code is same like our's. So you've got the GCC spec aswell. Strange man, Toyota produces these 70 series in some many different variations, you never know what you get when you import them.

But adding to the petrol/diesel issue:
I agree to anyone that the Diesel is the more cruiser-like slow and gentle long-life engine for the real long trips through deserts and such.
But the petrol is really powerful my god, what a pleasure. A had always been driving petrol engines but this is another dimension. Can be driven like a Diesel and can race you over the Autobahn. We've got an importer here in Europe who upgrades the software with another Toyota software which results in 270hp / 200kW. 😎

I like the fuse box idea was wondering what the terminal is for that is stand by.

The cruisers come with different packages. The only thing was the brake stop and turn signals were in bumper instead of the sides. I moved them over to the top right and left and were better for me. This way I have a custom rear bumper with 2 flood lights.

Is the person who upgraded the horsepower, his name is Tom? He built me an overlanding truck LC79 diesel 1hz turbo with the 80 series manual tranny. That truck is in a show now. Here is a Pic of it. May do a video of it soon here.

It went from pick up when I bought it... To an overlanding ready truck.

Alright then – the world is too small when it comes to Cruisers. Who else could it be. Beautiful overlander he built you right there. What a pleasure.

Regarding your light change: We can not have red blinkers in Europe. So when replacing the bumper another tail light unit including orange blinkiblinkis is needed or the new bumper needs to have a light unit accordingly.
