I'm guessing extreme sarcasm/frustration. The outside looks OK, but the inside is trashed.I have seen the thing on CL for over a year. Pricing is always all over the place from $2k to $5k. Sometimes the tires are almost new, other times they need to be replaced. Something is definitely wrong with that whole deal.

sweet! The trailer has found a new home.![]()
wups.
Wouldn't stop me from using the trailer though...
It turns out that this guy, Cody, is delinquent on child support payments and that the titles for all of his vehicles, including this trailer, are locked from transfer by DMV. Now I have to find a way to convince DES (lots of fun time on their phone tree) to release it. I have a bill of sale and that hopefully will help. What a pain!!!

It's always best to do your transaction at DMV just for this reason. I had a Camry in my back yard that belong to my daughter. It needed some repairs. We ended up buying her another car. She then listed the Camry on CL. Couldn't wait until we got home to get the title which I had locked up. Headed to DMV with the buyer only to find out the county had liened the vehicle for unpaid fines. So a clear title in hand doesn't mean it's truely clear title.
Let us know how you make out with DES. I would be surprise if they release the lien. There is a reason it was put on there. It is a shame a fellow mudder isn't willing to at least refund your money. I can understand he may not know it had a lein on it. But once he did he should make it right even if that means the only way is refunding your money.
Good Advice! I was blind-sided by this, and I have not approached him about a refund because I don't really want one, I want the trailer in my name. DES and DMV say he knows about the liens. DES has attempted to contact him and waiting until tomorrow to see if he calls back - good luck. They seemed to think they could get it cleared up, several different options, though I'm not clear exactly what they are. DES indicated that it might end up costing me a few additional bucks. It's always best to do your transaction at DMV just for this reason....
