I had no idea I needed a 426B until I read this thread. Won one on eBay yesterday for $26.

Thanks Coleman thread. :D

get the Coleman stand- it folds up and fits inside the 426 with all the rest of your gear and a towel or two to take up the rest of the space...

Nice score!

You'll also "need" a 242 (lantern), which will fit inside the stove along with the stand.

...if you want to be an OG :grinpimp:

I'm looking! Be nice to find one local, but haven't seen one pop up yet.

So a 200A won't fit?

A 200A fits fine. But, a 242 is cooler.

Jim-Does that 425 have a cast iron manifold/burner? If so, first I've seen and very cool. I like the ad "40 years old" . More like 75 years old. Post up some flame pics.

Don't think the manifold/burner is cast iron. Pics aren't loading for some reason; I'll try later. I twisted and turn the knobs, key, etc. and almost everything seems to work. The fuel cap is gummed up and I could not loosen with my hand. The tank still held some pressure. I'll clean it up, fuel it up, and light it up.

Well, a round tank for $15 is good business. If that's a 425C, the generator is available under $20.

Recommend you replace the fuel cap gasket (easily available or I'll send you one), and the pump leather.

I personally don't like those wire legs. They work, but not as solid as earlier/later designs.

That's a good score there. The seller had no idea what he had. I bet it lasts for another 70 years.

I'm making good progress on my 411A...

I think I'm going to strip and paint the case and tank - any favoured (preferably easy) methods for stripping these?

Wire wheel on a bench grinder where I could, hot soapy water and wire brushes where I couldn't.
Paint is VHT header paint.
