Picked up my eBay 426B a couple of days ago. It turned out to be in better shape than I had expected.

Inside the case is really clean…

Good size comparison with the 411A I'm redoing - yep, it's big!

The pump leather is in great shape and came nicely oiled up. I'll probably just replace the fuel cap gasket, pull, clean, and paint the burner assembly, wax the case, and hopefully use and enjoy!

the gas alone is worth the asking price. I have a BIL down there...

FYI, If you can find the Crown branded camp fuel locally, it is quite a bit cheaper than Coleman fuel.

It is $7.98/gal at Academy Sports (looks like they don't go further west than Texas), but could probably be found if you dig around.

Just about done with the 411A. The decals don't seem to be available, so I opted for a set of "Prevent Forest Fire" repros from the older CDN 4M stoves. I like them.
Other than currently not being able to find the air stem (it's around here somewhere!) to be able to fully assemble the tank, it's finished.
I'll give the paint a little more time to cure before trying to fire it. Fun project!

Great job. It does look new.

Flame shots needed. That's required after a restore.

oh man, sweet. what paint did you use?

Thanks dudes. I'll get a flame shot once the paint cures a little longer, and one on the 426B as well.
I found the air stem (in the box with my dremel tool, like where ELSE would it be?!), so now I just need a new fuel cap and it should be good to go.

Lambcrusher, I used Krylon primer, Rustoleum Gloss Hunter Green for the case, Krylon Regal Red on the tank, and VHT header paint on the guts.

Another bonus of doing this project was getting that electrolysis tank going. After I was done with the stove I threw an old crusty and rusty Lodge cast iron pan in that a friend had given me.
2 days in the tank, 2 minutes with a wire brush, maybe half a minute with a cup brush on an angle grinder, and:

ready for seasoning and a new life in my camp box!

Agree. The electrolysis tank is magic. Much better than it should be.

Unfortunately, no spray can paint, is all that hard. But you can make it better with a 200 degree bake in the oven for an hour or two. Great work, and a good save.

electrolysis is way cool, I've done a bunch of stuff including axe heads and hibachi grills.

A quick way to build a electrolysis tank is to get an apple box and invert the lid then line it with a contractors trash bag. I like it because I don't have to find a place to store another piece of equipment, when I'm done I use the bag for garden trash.

that's just plain smart.

That is a good find, did it come with the original box?

little workhorse, right there. not very big, but perfect for coffee and eggs all at once. looks like it's in great shape.

My dad gave me his 530 backpacking stove he received as a present right after the war. Replaced the cap filled it up and brought it snowshoeing. Melted snow sooo fast. Started instantly. Way better than gas canister stoves I used before.

Previous poster complained about being useless because it was unstable. In snow it was fine.

I have a similar stove they are great except for one thing, they are basically on or off. If all you want to do is melt snow or boil water they suit the bill.
