Major plot points made no sense even in the first episode. I tried to get past it in the 2nd epi and it just got worse. I didn't need Critical Drinker to explain that to me. Just atrocious story telling.

The entirety of the show made a little bit more sense with the cameo in the last episode, but it should’ve happened in the middle of the show and then developed on. Instead they insinuated on plot development and tried to push the message for 8 episodes that good is sometimes evil and evil has good intentions.

There was one decent episode somewhere in the middle, but overall, it was super sloppy, full of holes, and had the production value of a direct to VHS movie.

It makes Troma's storytelling look Shakespearean.

eh.. 🤷‍♂️ it's fluff... it's always been fluff...

Sure, it's comic book stuff, but why waste time with such poor stories in a highly valued property with a strong fan base? They've done it successfully before. Even the animated stuff had better stories and character arcs. Andor was the last thing they made that had great character development and story telling. There is a science to it as much as there is a creative side to the process.

THIS is real Star Wars

I watched all of acolyte. I didn’t watch reviews etc before.
I got into it for 2 episodes (I think more excited it’s another Star Wars)
Then each episode disappointed in a different and new way as I had time between each episode. If I think back on what I watch they are bad but in the moment ok to watch.

I found all actors and sets and costumes to be good. Except the head of the Jedi green female. Her makeup and acting seemed cheap and lazy. I have poor eyesight and still think I saw places where they missed covering her face with makeup around her mouth.
Every time I liked a character that seemed cool or interesting they killed them off. The deeper into the series the more it seemed like the creator of the show just hated Jedi. They made them so weak it was like what’s the point anymore.
I still don’t understand why they had to wipe the twins memory. Just take her with you and keep running. A couple plot holes but not the worst I’ve seen from newer Star Wars.
I liked the robot phone like droid and the main actor was good as well as her jedi master and some of the young Jedi were interesting… but they killed off all the good ones.

I thought exactly the same thing.

We watched most of the series, but just lost interest and quit before the last episode or two.

She does hate Jedi and has been vocal about wanting to jam pack the entire show with THE MESSAGE. KK put her in charge because like ol' Darth Menopause, she hates all of Lucas's major tenets of Star Wars.

Critical Drinker put it best "an older predator using their power to seduce an unwilling victim while everyone else around them pretends not to notice? Write what you know, eh Leslye?!"

The Acolyte was a show full of plot holes and messed up the cannon quite a bit. The overall story seemed odd and forced into its place to explain Darth Plagueis' involvement.

Follow the money. . .
Production company Lucasfilm reportedly will not continue with a second season of the Star Wars offshoot The Acolyte, the first season of which had a whopping budget of about $180 million and streamed on Disney+.
