To anyone who has put @ForealBoreal's turbo together, does anyone remember what studs are needed for the exhaust housing? I remember seeing a forum member post photos saying they are different studs but I can't find it now.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I didn't know this. I was going to buy some genuine hardware but if this is the case I won't be. I still haven't had time to fit my new turbo, work keeps me miles from home and I have overheating and a bunch of other issues to deal with first.

The only thing that is different is the tapping on the dump pipe side, I believe they are M10x1.5... Stopping at lordco on the way home tomorrow and I'll find out soon enough

Well its not the M10x1.5.....

Pretty sure it's 10-1.25

Hi mate, I'm guessing it'll Boost maybe 1 to 2 psi higher at cruise and slightly hotter egt, maybe 30c. Quicker to boost aswell
@MRMETOO, how would you expect the same MAMBA GTX turbo, but with the 7cm housing go on the same 60 - 100km/hr 4th gear run?
Slightly less revvy at top, past 3k rpm and hotter egt again. Can someone chime in and guesstimate better :) my egt was about 460c at 100kmh on vid. Cheers.

I might add to my post, I think 7cm will go better overall. On the video of 60-100, boost did reach 28psi. The 7cm turbo might bring that boost earlier, maybe at 90kmh. I think I need to play with the IP timing as turning the primary up a little has changed the timing of the IP, I'm at a spot where 1/12 of a turn makes a noticeable difference, egt is lower when I turn the fuel in/up, meaning the timing becomes more advanced from extra fuel in the injectors.

I had to chase the threads with an m10x1.25 tap. The oem ones fitted after that.

Yea I did. I ended up using M10x1.5 with no problem. He used bolts instead of studs

Took advantage of Mamba's discount last week... this little fella turned up today :D

Got the 7M cover, Got the rebuild kit with the 360 thrust washer, just need to send the rotating assy away for balancing now! (I assume this mamba wheel is not balanced at all??)

Have a look on the back, should have a little bit of machining done to it for balancing. My mamba wheel took no further balancing when installed.

I emailed them to check it was actually balanced, they assured me it was and all their bare wheels are.. Which is good to know

You'll still need the turbine individually balanced and then the whole assembly (turbine, compressor and nut) component balanced as one....

Mine has one very faint line from centre to the outer edge of the wheel, and the number '17' engraved in it?

Yes, I'll absolutely be doing this :)

A turbo shop in victoria (I'm in nsw) charges $100au to balance the full rotating assy... cheap insurance!

The wheels I had done by Sumalaya had a very visible balance mark. I would ask the shop for curiosity sake if it was balanced before hand. I would bet you it isn't.
