have some sort or rubber not O-Rings properly and betcha Jap engineers did not thing in this use when they design it ..

Well you could always upgrade that. Easy to modify the dipstick to accept some o-rings. On a lot of Patrols I have seen they have o-rings on the dipstick or big rubber grommets. All the old Patrols have 2 o-rings on the dipstick for a nice tight seal. A nice tight seal will certainly do the trick and I am sure you spend more time in the water then most of us.

Cheers

I'm puckered and not it a good way. Huge brass ballz.

Ohhh ! yeah !!!

Keep in mind that I wheel Tencha in Panamá, so about 80 all year around .. plenty rain ( I mean like seriously plenty ) from april to november but other than that no way the harsh conditions you might see ..

And yes I'm still happy not only coz it's practical off road .. it serve me well on road HW speeds too ..

After several months of everything ( start with new U bolt and U bolt plates ) got this one ton TRE and 25mm trunnion bearing upgrade .. along with shock upgrade, shock tower, lower shock tab, brake lines etc ..

Interesting stuff and would like to know if it's the same for you guys ( those who still have the factory front axle ) is your lower / bottom knuckle cap have cone washers .?

Mine didn't just plain and simple bolts .. never had an issue with those, but was about to ask that like forever ..

Cone washer are only on the steering arms, normal washer on the bottom caps

Interesting since 80 series have cone washer in the bottom caps .. and now I do have since the bottom caps Luke ( 4x4 Labs ) made for me with 25mm pins I have cone washers on them too ..

That must be a pain to remove cone washer on the bottom cap.. Banging upwards with hammer and brass punch. I never worked on a 80 series so i cant tell but the 60s bottom cap is not machined for cones.
I guess the kit is machined for cones so it can fit both 60 and 80 series

naaaa you do ( un do ) the arm on top and remove the hole knuckle .. then upside down remove the bottom cap cone washers ..

Have't seen it and I am .. under TapageTLC not many pics tho ..

this one in particular it's a pretty old one .. ( was on 37" back then )

Great write-up and adventures. My dad lived in Panama growing up, He went to Balboa high. I have never been there but i plan on making it down one day.

What shocks are you running? Post up pic of them when you can.

The Balboa School still exist in the same place same buildings ( not same admin obviously ) and I still play basketball in the same GYM ( behind the school ) ..
