Take a vote, would you rock this interior?

J, I'm still working on a metal alternative. It's fallen WAY behind.... sorry...

Amigo, you have nothing to apologize for. :)

Briwax. It's not a moving part so I see no reason it wouldn't last as long or longer than the original because mine isn't slotted in the rear. I'm in Chicago so we'll see what happens this coming season. Certain woods handle climate change better than others too.

If you have a thin scrap piece, send it out here. I can protect it with whatever you want me to and let it weather on the dash for a summer. That should give a good idea on how the wood would tolerate the summers here.

Really nice, I'm not sure I would rock, but not sure I wouldn't.

I'm on board with everyone else about a center bezel alternative.

Impressive, and really cool on a lot of levels. But not my style...as my wife says, I am really hard on my stuff, so my vote is for plastic- like options that will stand up to my abuse and the weather in the Colorado mountains and the desert Southwest.

Maybe I'll take some of these comments and tweak the hvac a bit, bulk it up, extend it out a hair and have some other function, deleting the ash tray and what I use as the chance slot. Giving it a different look all together. Designed around a Modular system or actually creating something to serve a purpose. An envelope type of sleeve for phones/GPS and so forth. What's needed other than something that can withstand a good beating?

I modded my pocket to fit a 62 clock and dual USB charger. Both I find extremely useful. More so than the pocket.
As you can see, my bezel is cracked like most everyone's

I went with Carbon Fiber which is very durable as we all know, only because I had some scrap and I am familiar working with it. Too bad it kills you. I wish my whole bezel was carbon. Not for the look, but for the functionality and durability.
