Front Range Off Road Fabrication (FROR) is proud to present our innovative new Tacoma/Tundra brakes upgrade kit for all 79 and up Toyota solid front axles. FROR has created a simple bolt on kit that allows a Toyota owner to utilize the newer more modern OEM Tacoma/Tundra front brakes on older solid axle housings for improved braking performance. OEM Tacoma brakes boast vented brake rotors and dual piston calipers, larger even than the V-6 models, for optimum performance over the solid axle’s antiquated smaller piston caliper and NON-vented flat rotors! Tacoma/4Runner/FJ Cruiser owners out there looking to do a solid axle swap on their truck now have the option to bolt on their factory OEM brakes once the solid axle is in. This kit also works with the FJ40 FJ60 knuckles.
Improved brake performance isn’t the kits only benefit, the simplicity of routine service is an added feature. The huge advantage in maintenance of the Tacoma brake conversion is that it allows for the wheel hubs and brake rotors to be serviced and repaired independently of each other! I.e., that in order to service the brake rotors, one is no longer required to disassemble the wheel hubs and bearings to do so. This results in much less labor time, effort and overall headache when performing general maintenance.
One final advantage provided by the Tacoma brake conversion for the more extreme wheeler is that because of the designed ability to service the hubs and brakes separately it allows for the removal and replacement of axle shafts, Birfields and 3rd members, again without tearing into your wheel bearings.
