I have an Ome 2.5 lift on my 97 40th Anniversary Edition, I started noticing a cluncking under the drivers side floor board, when driving off-road. About half of my daily driving is off-Road. I’ve been digging around the forum and it seems that the bushings can be a culprit. I did in inspection and while I can’t feel any play in the links themselves the 29 mm bushings seem to be coming apart on the drivers side.

After looking online. I’ve found some generics from the auto parts store, some made by ARB, and those made by SLEE. What would be the best to go with? I’m thinking either ARB or Slee. What say you folks?

First, just check to make sure ALL the hardware is tight on the suspension. If they installed it correctly, they SHOULD have loosened all the bolts, installed the springs, then set it down and tightened it all. The torques are high for some of those. Had a friend that chased a clunk for a year until he discovered the front control arm bolts weren't tight enough.

Ordered a set from Christo, my manual isn’t handy, what are the torque specifications for these bushings?

I don’t have my manuals handy, can anyone tell me the torque specs for these bushings?

If you're on here, you can have them in moments.......

Literally just discovered where my clunking sound was coming from...

For sway bar bushings and stuff you can do OEM or aftermarket. Whatever you want. For the control arms and stuff I would use nothing but OEM.

And as others said, check the torque. Stuff loosens up over time too.

I just installed energy suspension bushings front and rear. Unbolt and remove the bushing then wiggle the end links to see if they are shot. If they move freely, it's time to change them.

FWIW I ran the Energy bushings (they are larger and use their own U-shaped bracket) for about 1.5 years before the U-shaped bracket broke in the middle of a 2 week trip through the Mexico back country. They were great before that though. That being said I went back to the OE style and parts.
