Yeah, the seal should be inside the front bearing retainer of the 203. BTW i brought the doubler behind an auto thread back to the top with some new info, and there is a discussion of the seal in that thread.

Update
We finally got it out and really wheeled it. When to Uwharrie NC for the day and had a blast. Wife took the wheel for most of the hard stuff ("I swear honey, I thought this was the easy part"
) after the yelling stopped she admitted to enjoying all of it, expect the smell (leaking ATF like it's going out of style) the over heating (poor motor placemet, etc etc etc) and the getting towed back to camp by a Ford Ranger, Jeep TJ and then finally the last half of the trip home on the trailer behind a Dodge (drool!).
Picture of the boss behind the wheel on Kodaik, 3'ish of wheel lift... got spotted through a SWEET line. She keeps saying she can't wait to flop... and after seeing Jim's thread with his flop and the roof caved in... back under the knife she goes!
Version 4.0 will include:
-motor relocation (too far forward now)
-revamp of the cooling system
-finish rear swing out carrier
-patch all of the holes in the body, including the body mounts
-replace frame
-repaint dark green
-rebuild NP203 and reseal the drive line to eliminate the leaks
-remake crassmember to be more of a belly skid with the t-cases solid mounted to the tranny then with bushing as they mount ot the frame
-antiwrap bar
-finish sliders
-clean up engine bay/wiring
-and since the boss says things like as Stinson flopped "damn I missed it, bet that was fun!" and "I can't wait to flop!" it's time to look at a cage, espically if I finally have a decent floor to mount through!
-tryin to squeeze gears and tires onto the list
-and did someone say look at hydro assist? what?
End goal, to drive to Harlan and back again! Tow rig budgeted for fall of '09 but till then trailers will be for boats!

I'm real happy with how it turned out. You should be able to keep your perches right where they are on the axle. It is possible to adjust the angle of the spring pack by moving the rear shackle tube up or down in the frame (and w/ shackle length)
Glad to see you got it out and wheeled it, i was wondering what was going on with it.
Whats so off about the motor placement? No room for a fan? I didnt remember it looking too bad when i saw it.

The motor is too far forward. Version 2.0 was 350 with the Ranger OD that boasted leaving the crossmember in place... we'll if you do that the front of the motor is right around 2" back from the radiator... which makes a narrow electric fan just about the only possibility... but I can't get a shroud on it so the fan pulls across the whole radiator... in general not very happy with the ranger unit, but that as a while ago.

Here we go. Boss says since we're on vacation for turkey day it's time to get to wrenching!
Two and half mornings later I discover that the boss has botty fab skills! We pulled the tranny and t-cases in the gravel with three jacks and a come-along. and dropped the whole unit on a handcart so we can get everything to the basement for the rebuild. It was redneck engineering at it's finest! We took the weight off of the tranny with on jack on the toy drain plug and the other two jacks on each end of a 2x4 (yes wood) under the tranny pan. The pulled the truck forward and dropped the tranny down. There are no pictures in case something had gone wrong there'd be no evidence!

I can't believe she was hiding these skills from me...
I slid the stuff off of the hand truck and she's planning how to get everything strightened out
Rust spot 1. Drivers side rear most body mount
Passenger wheel well
Drivers floor pan
Anything else I should do with the interior out aside from bedline paint and rust repair? I'm wishing hard a cage will appear... we'll see about that.

I would say dont think about attaching the cage to the floor only, at the very least sandwich the floor between to plates, the lower of which should be attached to the frame. The floor is no stonger than the roof, and if the roof was that strong you wouldnt need a cage. Think about it.

Too much time on my hands? I'm working 3rd shift which explains the daylight. I'm working 50 hour weeks and taking 13 credit hours driving 80 miles a day... This week no class... feels like I do have all day! The tranny pull took us a record 3 hours!
No joke on time/money problem. I actually have the third variety no time/no money... figure that one out
