36 minutes. who the **** would watch that whole thing? why are so many YouTubers so verbose?
Dan Edmunds being called a YouTuber is pretty comical. I think you mean why are so many OE suspension engineers turned technical editors for various legit, legacy publications so verbose. Dan’s an auto nerd and that’s okay.

But also since you asked. There is an actual reason YouTube are made longer and longer by “YouTubers” as a way to potentially, emphasis potentially, create more ad revenue. Since you enjoy in depth explanations, I be copied and pasted the following from Reddit:
“its not the length of the video as much as the amount of time people are watching it.

a 5 minute video that people watch all 5 minutes of, AND gets people to click on other videos (and not leave youtube's website) will get more valuable ads, a 10 minute video that people stick around for a minute and a half and then leave the website? it won't get as valuable of ads, if any at all.

my average view time was just over 2 minutes, but I had a bunch of sub 2 minute videos, that got reasonable views. I moved those over to my other channel, and my view time jumped by 30 seconds and my channel CPM jumped as well.

The trick for your channel is to get people to stay within youtube, and watch as much content as possible. that's why channels like Phillip defranco have links in their description to other youtube videos. that boosts their youtube rankings significantly when people click on those.

Your main focus should not be length of video, but content of video. Get your content up, get people sticking through the whole video, and you'll earn more money”

Meh. All I see is loads of BS and additional words that add little value or depth. Such is life I suppose.

Different strokes for different folks?

Must be me, but in a world of superficial and uninformed influencers, Dan's content is refreshing. He was a suspension development engineer in his past life and I find his geeking out quite educational.

Sweet the LC200 with KDSS gets to 661, with a system which is no more than some stabilizer bars, two hydraulic actuators and clever plumbing between the same.

Also love the way KDSS keeps the body straight in corners, certainly for a 5800 lbs tall vehicle.

549 sway connected
631 sway disconnected

Been looking forward to this video. Nice to see it post up solid numbers. Good, but not as great as the 200-series, which to me is looking more and more like peak Land Cruiser, given where the 250-series and even the 300-series have been headed.

Table on first post updated.

Thanks. I imagined it would probably be just under the 250 disconnected and that looks to be about right (24"/sin20/112.2*1000=625).

Perfect and agrees with what I computed as well in that thread. GX550 @ 625 RTI.

Awesome. This is still useful to compute equivalent RTI for a 20* ramp.

Formula for a 20* ramp: RTI =h / b x 2924
Where: (h)eight= 24 and wheel(b)ase = 112.2

RTI = 24 / 112.2 * 2924
RTI = 625

For all intents and purposes, and serves as a good cross check for what is the same chassis, its equivalent to Dan's measured RTI for the LC250 @ 631 bar off.

Forgot to post this--I had a chance to stop by a buddy's workplace where they have a ramp and had the opportunity to flex out and see what I could do. Made it just under 27" of vertical which should equate to around 700 RTI. I was making pretty solid contact with the rear fender liner while tucked so I'm curious if that resistance caused me to break traction early on the free tire and if there was any left

Are the LCA’s on the LC/GX/LX600 as long as a 200 series? They have very similar track width but my understanding was the TNGA-F platform had increased the width between the frame rails compared to the 2nd Gen Tundra(and therefore the 200) which would suggest the arms might be shorter.

I’d bet someone could get measurements quickly in the 300-series section.

I can measure a 2024 sequoia lower suspension arm.

It seems the LX600, GX550 and LC all are super close. There doesnt seem to be much difference between the AHC, eKDSS, and sway bar disco in terms of the RTI.

Makes me appreciate the ol' AHC a bit more. I really think its a fantastic system. Maybe ill pick up a used LX600 one day when they arnt $100k :rofl:
